    It is discouraging.

Years ago there was a site like this and what happened is that users would post here, wait four hours, post somewhere else.    The other site would publish and they’d come back, delete or leave it to be bounced.

    • Watching television online is fine but what about your ISP connection and the amount you have to spend to keep connected?

    • Well, we have a monthly service we pay for… it is not picky with the Gigabytes. I don’t dl the movie… I just watch it…

    • I don’t usually watch movie online cause its time consuming. Sometimes its irritates me whenever i lost internet connection so what i do is that i download the movie and convert it to mp4 hd after downloading i will store it on my sd card. If im not busy and have time i even watch the movie i downloaded on my phone with any interruption thinking i would lost internet connection again. For me thats more convenient way to enjoy a movie marathon. You can also used your sd card and plug it on a flat screen tv with some snack and popcorn to carry on and eat as you were viewing and watching your desired movie genre.

    • Depends wher you are in the world. Here, it is easier to hook into a site and watch online.

        • Not just color or ethnicity. I created an avatar for myself. My husband said I should because nobody wants to look at the face of an old lady. Eh! He’s honest! I thought: ‘Maybe he’s right!’ People would prefer young and pretty over old and … kind of wrinkly. I did it at first, but in the end, I found a fairly decent picture of myself and uploaded it to my networks. Now I can use both: my avatar and my real face. I’m OK with that. Forget about what others want to see! 🙂

    • When I use an avatar it is usually a 3 toed sloth.

    • This is a horror story by all standards. How could you have stuck for so many years. Did you not have choices to leave that job. There are sadists in the world but when they happen to be bosses you are right in saying what you have said here.

      • I got caught up in the work, considered him … welll….. I knew him from school… I knew some of the things that happened to him… so I was more forgiving.

In the first 6 months I wasn’t all that alert… but as time passed and I began to hate him…

    • You are right because boss use money from the pit of hell and no body knows from where the money is being used mercilessly. Your boss work will be illegal that is why they keep them secret or under the veil of other person’s services to save self.

A crime is any act or omission that violates a law which results in a punishment. Punishments can range from the payment of a fine to incarceration in jail. The level of the offense or crime will usually be set in proportion to the severity of the crime.

If a statute merely encourages a conduct, but does not provide a punishment, then a violation is not generally considered a crime, even though you may be exposed to some type of civil liability.

For example, many family codes have general policy statements that encourage parents to resolve custody disputes in a friendly manner. If the custody battle turns ugly, a violation of the general policy rule, by itself, is not a crime because there is not a defined punishment.

Another crime which has been growing in momentum is using a cell phone while driving. Because of the number of children injured, many states and communities have begun enacting laws which prohibit you from driving in a school zone while using a cell phone. If you injure a child while going through a school zone and using a cell phone, you could be charged for negligently causing injuries to the child. You did not intend to hurt the child, but because of your negligence, you could still be criminally prosecuted and punished.

Crimes vary by jurisdiction—from state to state and town to town. If you are concerned about whether your conduct, or absence of conduct, could result in a criminal charge being filed against you, consult with a criminal attorney in your jurisdiction to see what exactly constitutes a crime in your town or state.

      • Every other day our Parliament says it will amend the law to make driving on a cell phone illegal. Never passes the legislation. Keeps talking.

    • Pinch a penny until it screams? LOL. Never heard that expression. What we say about a stingy cheap person is: “They squeeze a dollar bill so hard, they make George Washington cry!” Obviously y’all can say that in Jamaica. 🙂 Point taken in your post though. Sounds like a sad but true story.

    • It is a true story. If I had to run his business for three months I would more than double his profits by simply paying the workers what they deserve.

    • ‘Take care of your penny and the pound will take for itself’ Probably he read this before starting his business 😀

      • When you underpay the staff underworks and steals. The best may steal time… doing nothing and unworking. Others walk out with what they can carry.

    • In our place, people often mistaken the wordcheap from being thrifty. It’s not bad to be thrifty as long as the quality of the thing or services you are purchasing will not be affected. In fact, there’s a saying that “save penny for the rainy day” but as always, too much is bad.

      • Being cheap costs more at the end. A man was selling something for $XX. I didn’t squawk. Because I didn’t he virtually hand held me through out the process and checks on me. Why? Because although I paid $XX and didn’t beat him down to $X1/2 he feels he owes me.

    • Thrift is using scrap paper for scratch paper. Taking old documents or messed up ones, and using the back for notes. It doesn’t take from anyone or oppress them. Being cheap is expecting employees to bring their own toilet paper.

kaylar wrote a new post, The Meaning of Silence 8 years, 4 months ago

There is a semi-valid legal view that ‘silence’ means consent.   That is, if you don’t object to the proposition you agree.

This may be true in some cases, but in most, it isn’t.

    Years ago, when someone […]

    • Love this!

    • Silence sometimes is too loud. It shatters because you want to hear someone saying that you are right or you are on the right track.
There is a phrase ‘strong and silent’ which conveys a deep meaning.

      • The point is, when someone is saying what you don’t want to hear, why add fuel? Be silent and go away. Unless you are being paid to advise. so what?

    • Most times I do heard about silence as people relates it meaning as “YES”.

But I try when I compared it to myself as to some time I can easily ignore someone and kept silence at him or her because of his/her loquaciousness. Then that reminds me that I don’t need accept everything people says about something but to actually give it a response which may sometimes means silence to them.

Anyway to some people silence means yes but to others contempt.

      • I used to wax long and hard about something I knew. Maybe I was physically at the meeting that someone who wasn’t there is discussing. Maybe I heard something from the person her or himself. If I care about you, I’ll tell you. But if I don’t care, I let the person wallow in ignorance.

    • I do this often too especially when I am talking with someone who insists what she is saying when obviously, it is just plain stupid.

I just want to share my favorite quote about sîlence by Aristotle: “Be silent unless you can say something that is more useful than your silence.”

      • A friend of mine’s father said; “When you argue with an idiot it is hard to remember who is the idiot.”

    • You have just nailed it. that is exactly how i would have put it if i was to write such a piece i agree with you. nowadays i think people use silence more as a weapon of scone or disagreement. i won’t jusmp at you and start arguing with you that something is wrong i will just be quiet and that will definitely tell you something. Then there are also people people who will be silent say to their partners when they have been wronged thus (the silent treatment) you talk to me and i don’t answer that can be very annoying but it works sometimes.

      • Some people never shut up, some people have opinions based on nothing, and I don’t need to hear the sound of my own voice to know I exist.

If I know someone and they are flying off into stupidity I will speak. But if I don’t care what they thing, I’ll let them talk and not listen.

Few people notice that you aren’t saying anything. They can talk for hours . The person they are talking to could have died 55 minutes ago. They wouldn’t notice.

    • An intelligent person will notice that you aren’t responding and stop talking. A fool won’t.

      • And what, pray tell do they get? Are they on the Payroll? Do they get a penny for every sucker they entice?

Unless you own a site, you can’t know anything about it.

Here is a sad story. There was a fantastic magazine called Omni run by a fantastic woman. She died. The husband couldn’t do it. He couldn’t manage it, couldn’t find anyone who could manage it. It closed.

People who didn’t know the story had attitude and blabber and all sorts of reasons… because they didn’t know.

You can’t know if the owner of a site says; “As soon as I rip $20k I’m shutting the site…”

You can’t know if the Owner says; “I hate people who come from Country X and I won’t pay them…”

        So why defend? Why try?

Maybe YOU always got paid… but what about me?

      • That is the act of a Shill… to support another site and try to sucker you into joining.

    • Truly, you have said it all. Some people are more concern with what doesn’t concerned them. Some fight about what does not matter.

Some may even go as far as spoiling someone’s image thinking they will be accepted. Lol!

Let’s be in peace in every site we found ourselves and be more concerned with how everyone will be paid not some. No one is better than the other. We are one big family so let’s share love, peace and harmony.

      • Goodluck, people are selfish. “I Always Got Paid!” as if they are better than you. I wouldn’t want to say that. I would be ashamed to say that.

I can’t like a site where I am paid and you are not. I have been on sites and learned that someone was complaining they weren’t paid and looked at their stuff.

kaylar wrote a new post, Protecting Yourself From Online Writing Scams 8 years, 4 months ago

Not very long ago, a new site popped up making all sorts of promises.  It seemed to pay better than other sites; better and faster.

Having been involved in online publishing for nearly ten years I’ve lived […]

    • This indeed is a long drawn process and I agree with you all writing sites are not above board. There are web analysing sites that one could check periodically to find out their credibility.

      • We have to protect ourselves. Some sites may be new and there are no reports… but before you write your fingers off…so a search of Sitename+scam.

    • For beginners like me, it’s really hard to identify which site is a scam or not. The only thing we can afford to do is to research in the internet reviews of that site and some review sites are paid. hayy

      • Exactly. You can’t listen to a Shill….”I am always paid!” You have to look for yourself, do your research…see if there are complaints.

    • The key is not to restrict oneself wholly on one site but access and use different sites. Go for personal blogging site, PTC site etc too.

    • I really don’t know about writing online scam but this post has made me know something like that exist. I guess before one keeps venturing into writing online, he should sure to contact people that has been paid by the online writing. I thank God I have been convinced beyond doubt that literacybase.com pays. Am convinced by the testimonies people give about how they were paid and I hope I will be paid one day. Sometimes I dream making it big with literacybase.com though their payment scheme is very very low. But I will keep striving ahead with endurance. When I saw this post, something came to my mind and that was what if after spending your time and strength writing online,When your time is due to collect your money, you realize it’s scam.what would the person do. Is really hurting. That is why the more I continue with literacybase.com, I tend to do more findings about it.
Thanks for your post my dear.

      • You can’t know a site is legit until after you’ve been paid at least 3x on time. Many sites pay the First Time and fool you, so when the 2nd payment doesn’t come you will wait, assuming it is late. YOu will continue to write. Eventually when you realise you’ve been scammed, well… it is surely too late.

The best thing is to begin cautiously, keep copies, don’t share too much, and after you are paid the 1st time, maintain vigilance. After the 2nd pay out, relax a little. But… keep your eyes open.

    • Yes, we must know how to protect our blog from the scammers because internet has become the place of deceit but what can we do nothing just self protection.

Scammers are doing their best to hit us from just about every possible avenue these days, from email phishing, to cell phone SMiShing, and everything in between.

If you have just fallen for a scam, you shouldn’t feel embarrassed. It can happen to anyone. Scammers are constantly refining their scams to make them as effective as possible. They know what works and what doesn’t.

If you’re reading this article then you are here to find out what you can do after you’ve been scammed. Here are some tips to help you try and recover after you’ve become the victim of an online scam:

If you’ve given out your credit card number or bank information to a suspected scammer then you need to tell your financial institution as soon as possible so they can put a hold on your account to prevent further charges against it. Always call them on the number on the back of your card or on your most recent statement.

If you’ve been the victim of identity theft or you believe that scammers have gotten all the information they need to obtain a credit card or a loans in your name, you may want to contact the 3 major credit bureaus and ask them to place a “security freeze” on your credit reports.

      • I never give out my Credit Card number. I would sooner have the $$ sent by Western Union, even if it costs more. YOu can’t trust anyone or anything.

    • Generally, there are no scam sites in the field of writing. Most of them are found in other areas like email marketing, revenue sites, copy paste jobs, data entry jobs etc., But, if a blogging site turns out to be a Scam then there will be no value for the Internet. The day it happens more, it can be assumed that the fall for INTERNET has just stepped in.

It is only through the writing sites there are many things coming to light and the marketing is becoming easy.
The review sites, recipes, travel, online jobs, making money online, product reviews, are all contributing to a roaring business.

If once, these shills and seamsters start dominating there will be a total loss for the entire industry and nobody will come to the rescue of it. It is nothing but SUICIDAL for the industry. Hence, this is not only public but also the money paying sites like Payoneer, pay, PayPal are also taking all cautious steps to avoid such sites and warn the public again such SCAM SITES.

SEO writing is a form of writing that helps websites become more visible to major search engines like Google and Bing. A highly visible website with good content appears on the first few pages of results when someone searches for that topic. Those websites, in turn, get a tremendous boost in traffic from search engine users.

That makes writing for SEO very worthwhile for websites seeking an audience. SEO content-writing jobs are increasingly in demand, so having an understanding of what exactly the job entails means you will be a more valuable asset to any company that hires you.

Keywords are identical to the search phrases people type in when they are looking for information on the Internet. For example, if a reader wants to learn about guinea pigs, they will probably go to a search engine and type exactly that: guinea pigs. Thus, using the keyword phrase “guinea pigs” within an article allows the search engine know the article can help people learn about guinea pigs.

Due to the way search engines read pages, SEO writers should use keyword phrases exactly the way they appear in article instructions. If the instructions call for the phrase “guinea pigs,” to be most effective, you should include the phrase as a whole.

For editing purposes, Online Writing Jobs instructions typically ask our writers to signify the use of keywords with parentheses. For example:

There are many different types of pets. (Guinea pigs) are among the most popular because they are easy to care for and can be a great pet for younger children.
