What is the money used for? Is it donated to a charitable work?
-
Usually, the generated money is used for the fiesta activities like prizes on different sports activities, buying things needed for decor in the whole community, for snacks during the activities, or the whole amount can be allotted for a certain project in the village like repair of barangay hall or cementing of road.

Philippines has many king and queens maybe because it was a part of our tradition, of our cultural heritage, and of our interest that lives on even up to this day of the modern age of technology. As we look back in this past years, philippines has been dominated the beauty pageant around the world with their own unique beauty, to show the world that we are not only beautiful inside and out but we have the eyes to see people who are in want, to bring equality to all, and to inspire people to never give up and stop dreaming, to follow that dreams, and make that dreams into reality.
-
Truly this is part of Philippine tradition. We have been like during the Spanish colonization of our country. Our rich culture and traditions also credited to our colonizers which we still practice until now. Our village fiesta are so enjoyable because of this traditions we have.

I have the same question as @Treathyl FOX has. What is the money for? Choosing a king and queen based on how much one collects does not seem to be a justification for that.
-
Yes, I forgot to mention about it. The accumulated money is used for fiesta activities or can also be used to fund certain project in the village, depending on what the village officials had approved.
-
-
Ha ha, that is true, we are all king and queen to our own way. We are the royalties without the protocol and without the wealth.
-
We call kind of thing beauty contest and name it something like miss or Mr so and so naming them from where they come from. Some of the things you ha e mentioned are similar to what we do back in our country as well They ar3 usually asked questions regarding the place they come from and if the judge’s are happy with their answers then they ar3 crowned with a tiara for the girl with flowers and so on and so for the. Then a celebration follows.there after.

LOL. I’m silly. I don’t mind the oils. But I can’t stand the thought of putting sugar on me. I’m sweet enough! LOL. 🙂
-
Sounds great. There’s a lot of people who have dry skin. I’m sure they would benefit most from the scrub but if the scrub the skin feeling refreshing then perhaps I’ll try the scrubn and see just how effective it is. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
-
I love sugar scrubs. I use them to give myself a facial. I never thought about making my own, although it seems easy to make.
-
I wonder if sugar dissolves in oil, since other items are optional, it will be just sugar and oil. Easy DIY though.

That is cute, at first I thought its the doughnut or siopao we are buying in the favorite fastfood chain. This is just so beautiful
-
I love PlayDoh. I think I like it more than my kids did! 🙂
-
Great idea. I was imagining the various colourful shapes that one could produce and yet deal with something that is safe to use, specially for kids.
-
My mum used to make homemade glue for me when I was young.
She never knew how to make playdough.
Then, I once tried to make plastercine, also known as playdough for my daughter 20 years ago, different recipe and it turned out allright but doesn’t last long.
It turns into moss, green stuff growing because it is made from flour base
ANyway, did it turned into green or black spots for you?

Watching the sunset has always been a soothing feeling for me, how ive been longing to go at the beach once more, go to the shore, to feel the soft breeze gently caressing my face, and the cold waters seems to kissing my feet. I terribly miss the wonderful feeling of contentment, peace, and solitude.
-
This is the advantage of living near the beach, we always have the good setting for the afternoon, especially the sunset. Every season we can have different colors of sunset. We also have the hills and its really nice always be at the beach to take some photos.
-
-
I get to see sunrise from my door step. It is not as colourful as one can see on the beach or on hillsides but I see it in different avatars. I forget to see the sunset as it is at the back of our house. I must remember to click photos of sunset too. As for sunrise photos I have scores of them.
Your photo is mesmerising.
-
You must be always inspired because every morning you have the inspiration of the sunrise and in the afternoon you have the sunset. How come? But its really amazing to be in your place, maybe you can also post some of your sunset photos.

The sight of the sunset is one of the best fascinating all over the world especially standing on the beach and looking at the sunset look very beautiful.
I read in an article about the sunset and its result I summarize here for the readers as For just a few days each year the sun sets over the falls creating a vivid red amber glow – leading it to be re-named Yosemite Fire fall.
The stunning moment was captured by wildlife photographer Penny Adams who has been recording America’s most beautiful locations for 26 years.
The 37-year-old, from Tennessee, said this was the first time she had photographed Horsetail Falls and it was an incredible sight to witness.
Adams said, “I nervously watched the weather forecasts all week before deciding to make the trip to Yosemite Park, I had to make sure the conditions were just right for me to capture the perfect photograph.
“The whole experience was so very exciting, I made the drive back to the bay area after sunset and I didn’t sleep very well that night because I couldn’t wait to see what the film would hold.
