In America, where public libraries and bookstores are in abundance, it’s easy to develop a love for holding that paperback or hardcover in your hands and flipping through the pages. I came across a statistic that said millions of Chinese only read books using their cell phones. Maybe access to digital books is easier. It’s too late for me to start reading on a cell phone. My eyes have become weak. Either way, no matter what kind of access to reading material you have, it’s a good thing!

I love reading when th3 time is right and at the right place. If I have the soft copy I will definately read it it’s much more enjoyable as opposed to ebook. But again if I am at a place where I cannot get a soft copy of I meet up with someone who is talking about a book and it sounds interesting why not I will read it from kindle. It’s not bad and it’s much cheaper to read it on kindle of you have Wi-Fi you don’t spend much time or money.

Many successful writers say they got their start because someone gave them a book to read. In fact, many actors and people in various other professions say the same thing. Anybody who learns to read will never live to regret it.

Yes, reading makes man full and practice makes men perfect it is for those who read books and act upon the books message are happy on earth as the readers of the holy Bible.
A continuous reading makes men active and provides information about the whole world what the people of other countries are doing and writing or the coming generation.
The Benefits of Reading are as…
Reading keeps your brain young. …
Reading can melt away stress. …
Reading boosts your vocabulary. …
Reading improves empathy. …
Reading can encourage life goals. …
Reading helps you feel more connected.Studies have shown that staying mentally stimulated can slow the progress of (or possibly even prevent) Alzheimer’s and Dementia, since keeping your brain active and engaged prevents it from losing power. Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain requires exercise to keep it strong and healthy, so the phrase “use it or lose it” is particularly apt when it comes to your mind. Doing puzzles and playing games such as chess have also been found to be helpful with cognitive stimulation.
Everything you read fills your head with new bits of information, and you never know when it might come in handy. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you’ll ever face.
Additionally, here’s a bit of food for thought: should you ever find yourself in dire circumstances, remember that although you might lose everything else—your job, your possessions, your money, even your health—knowledge can never be taken from you.
Therefore reading is must for all of us in extra time at home or late night.

I spend most of my time working online, with the exception of Sundays and Wednesday nights after Bible study. Have no issues with stress, cyber bullying, etc. When people act negative towards me and make distasteful remarks, etc., I click the OFF button in my brain. Sorry. I don’t have time. I got work to do!! If the other mean person had productive work to do too, they wouldn’t be expending their energy doing dumb stuff like picking on people they probably don’t even know! As for its effects on my health for sitting too long all day, reading and typing (and watching videos)? (Yawn.) I’m too old to care. 🙂

I agree with you treathyle Fox, many people work a lot on the net actually for some it’s like their life depends on it, so staying away is like torture for them. The net is a media platform for everyone to do and say whatever they want. So someone just needs to be careful with the friends they make on different sites on the net, that way you are able to put tabs on everyone you chat with. One thing the internet can have all sorts of frustrating issues but the best way to avoid problems is to shut your ears from anything negative

Before there was eMail and the Internet, there was the telephone. In my old jobs, I spent a lot of time on the phone working with co-workers all around the United States. Never physically met some of them until long after we have developed a good working relationship. Either they came on a business travel trip to where I was working or I made an official trip to their workplace. It’s all about establishing a line of communication, working together, and getting the job done. It’s just that some folks think they can “hide” using the Internet and it gives them a license to do things to you that they would not do to your face. Those kind of people are just silly! I can’t say “childish” because I have a grandchild, about 7 years old, who handles herself on the Internet in a more mature manner than some grown folks!

Spending too much time on internet is injurious to our mental and physical heath because man is the man’d peace of heart and mind and inanimate things cannot speak to men just like computer does not talk to men but we read the computer in lone.
I read once in the magazine that Researchers at the University of Gothenburg found that those who constantly use a computer or their mobile phone can develop stress, sleeping disorders and depression.
The team studied the habits of more than 4,100 Swedish men and women, aged between 20 and 24, over the course of a year to reach this conclusion.‘It was easy to spend more time than planned at the computer (e.g., working, gaming, or chatting), and this tended to lead to time pressure, neglect of other activities and personal needs (such as social interaction, sleep, physical activity), as well as bad ergonomics, and mental overload.’
The study also found a correlation between stress and always being available on the phone, especially regarding the burden of guilt for not replying to messages.Even people who played video games online faced a greater risk of suffering from depression, with Thomee saying: ‘Daily computer gaming for 1–2 hours meant an increased risk for symptoms of depression in the women.
‘Often using the computer late at 48 night (and consequently losing sleep) was a prospective risk factor for stress and sleep disturbances, including reduced performance, in both sexes.’
The team said people need to set limits on the time they spend in front of a screen or phone, and limit demands on their availability to avoid mental disorders.

Oh its so bad, this is the problem with Train travel- were you not carrying any chains?
Reading the whole story i became very sad you were robbed in the train replacing the suitcase very sad, really very sad and you lost valuable things as your full memorable pictures camera and some nice and good looking suits.
I have seen in Asian countries such cases are common but lea in western countries, better knows God I have heard what I have written. To whom we can blame for it, education, corrupt, political and social system, parents….thinking this complicated problem I am puzzle really. My sympathies are with you.
May God your mind rest in peace.
