Mahesh wrote a new post, Diamonds Are They Worth Buying 7 years, 8 months ago

Most of the people out there in the world are chasing diamond all the time. I have seen that diamond and gold has lot of fascination. People are going to spend a lot of money to buy them. I have not seen not a […]

    • Diamond as the saying goes, is a girl’s bestfriend. Indeed, it is if a diamond is given as a gift by someone who likes you. But not when you have to buy it yourself because it is so expensive that if you are an ordinary employee, it will take you years to be able to save for a diamond.

Though, it is said that a diamond’s price increases as years pass by. Just like antique things, their value would go up never go down. It’s actually a good investment.

    • I for one do not like gold, diamonds and the like for the purpose of personal use neither for me not my family. Even my children also seem to have the same bent of mind. I feel in today’s it is good not to wear such things and roam around be it any country in the world. It is like wearing a Mala or necklace of currency and walking on busy streets. There is always risk to like. I have heard of people whose legs, hands and ears have been chopped to get a hold of this metal which they were wearing.

Coming to the commercial aspect of it I suggest one does trading in the bullion market. It is good to trade in units of gold which one can buy and trade as it is in a dematerialized form so there is no risk for ones life and gold and metals like them have a cycle of peaks and downs one has to know where to enter into the market and be there for the long run if one wants to profit it. Diamonds are in my opinion not to be had by all and sundry. Each one of us has a unique diamond which we are supposed to keep. As some diamonds are unlucky for some. So the wearer must be careful to know which of the stone is good for him or her. Thanks for the share.

    • There is a song that is entitled Diamond Are Forever, hehehehe, if I am only rich, I wanna buy diamond, the real one not fake one.Yes, you are right, only the wealthy can afford to buy diamond and have it shown to their friends in the high strata of society, to be famous and not to be robbed and murdered hehehe. That is money and sued mostly by robbers/ thief/ burglars.

    • Worth buying? “Worth” means a value has been attached to something. Diamonds definitely have value. They are used for more than just pretty pieces of jewelry. So my answer to the question is: “Yes! They are worth buying.” But they are not worth stealing. Ever watch the movie “Marathon Man”?

    • Most women dream of owning a diamond, who doesn’t?

But did you know that an experiment was made way back in 1796 by Smithson Tennant, a British Chemist, that diamond is not forever?

He experimented on proving that diamond can vanish and will just turn into a carbon dioxide?

He burned a diamond by using a magnifying glass and the sun. When it is already burning he put the diamond in a liquid oxygen.

      The bubbles formed and the
      diamond eventually vanished into
thin air or it just turned into carbon
      dioxide.

      So the phrase,

    • It is old fashion now even the rich care for other things than diamond such as cars, travelling, going ou parties and more things that are not for jewelary also they care for fashion and bags and beauty icons more than this, owning houses villas living here and there is more importnat than jewellary also

    • That is so true. In developed countries, jobs abound and unemployment is not as high as those in developing countries like the Philippines.

One reason is that at developed countries, there are a lots of businesses that needs manpower. While in developing countries, businesses are just beginning to become many.

Another thing is that here in the Philippines, a lot of graduates are over qualified to the jobs they are in , because they just have to take those jobs since jobs in line with the courses they graduate are just a few. Sad, but there are a lot of graduates who are really unhappy with the jobs they have.

But if only there are more big companies, everyone can have a job in line with their jobs.

    • The two emotions are I think opposites.

I don’t want respect, if it comes from the person’s fear of me. On the first place, I don’t want to be feared by a person. It gives me the feeling that I am cruel. Nobody wants to be perceived as cruel.

I want to be loved not feared. Because when one is loved by people, respect comes naturally from them to you. They respect you because you have lovable traits that endeared them to you, like you are kind and a compassionate person.

Arnold Cruz wrote a new post, Corrupt Officials And Employees Has No Place In The Government Service 7 years, 8 months ago

The recent news in the Philippines says that 92 government officials and employees were dismissed from the government service due to graft and corruption.

It’s about time that the Civil Service Commission as w […]

    • I really hope that with our new President here in the Philippines, all the corrupt officials should be dismissed from office. Lifestyle check should be done to each and every one of them.

Those who have been proven to have their own businesses acquired while in public office should be further investigated and be dismissed from their office with benefits forfeited.

That way, people who are in public office will really see to it that they will not be corrupt also and gain richness while in office.

    • Not only in Philippines but anywhere in the world. Corruption must not be tolerated. As this is the main source from where black money is generated. These people who work in government offices get all the job and facilities and still crave for more which is disgusting to say the least. All this while the common man of the country is suffering. This happens in almost all the countries. The sooner these people are weeded out of the system it is good for the economy of the country.

This corruption starts from the top usually and the system runs down in the form of a chain to the bottom. Since many get away others also get emboldened and end up doing such things and corrupting the society. This eats into the vitals of the economy of the country. And takes the country and its growth down in the long run. Such people should be removed from service and jailed as that will act as a deterrent to other indulging in such malpractices.

    • Corruption is widespread in many parts of the world, but in India and some parts of Asia it is very rampant and almost a disease and becoming a habit, which is not easy to break out of.
However, in recent years, many state Governments in India and the central Government, as well as in some other Asian countries have started becoming stricter against corruption.
This fight is not easy, and the problem is that not only Government officials, but public too has started accepting corruption and breaking law as part of life.
This is a bit of moral problem too, and I believe education at home, apart from school can take care of this.

    • Corruption by way of corrupt people has no place anywhere! But they especially should not hold government positions. So whenever they are exposed? Publicly give them the BOOT! They are in positions of public trust. When they violate that trust everybody should know and they should be adequately punished for their deeds!!!

    • Government officials and employees should always think that they have jobs, they have the positions because their salaries came from people’s money, from taxes. And they are there to do good for the office and to serve the people well.

    • Graft and corruption deeply rooted in our country hard to eliminate. It might eventually be eliminated in percentage, but when other president comes in, it goes back to the oldest system which is condemned by the world.

    • There are many such rules, Acts, Laws, and volumes of commentaries written on corruption in every Government of a country. There are many officials and departments coming into existence to arrest corruption. There are many courts with many lawyers moving in the corridors searching for their clients and moving around courtrooms to defend their clients. Everything is for proper implementation of the so-called rules, regulations, Laws, and blah..blah…There are many politicians coming up with various colorful flags, shirts, dresses, caps etc., in the name of serving the public but no one could really arrest corruption. Is it such a great and invincible thing in nature?
If the corruption is unable to be conquered then the forces acting against it must be very weak. But, this is not the thing because the corruption is prevailing among the forces acting against corruption. This is the only reason for its all-pervasiveness.

    • there are lots or laws and i hope all people obay it taht is the only reason or thing to have peace and ll live peacefully with comfort and no stress at all in live, its fantasy i guess and will not be true guys

    • Here in the Philippines, a lot of cases like this happens.

The accused have already suffered a lot in jail before it us finally proven that he is not involved in the case thrown at him.

Now that we have a new president, I hope he also finds the time to make a law expediting the cases of those being proved guilty but is already in jail.

Sad that the former president Arroyo is one of them. She suffered much while being in house arrest before she’s finally freed because she wasn’t proven to be guilty.

There are parents who are […]

    • It is very important to provide outdoor activities or even indoor games for children. These games will help children confidence in themselves, make them more sociable and not become an introvert. While learning a bicycle is better than a motorcycle as it is safe. Especially if the child is too young. Communication skills will improve a lot and chances are they will learn new languages other than their mother tongue. Which will help them in the future. The article covers most of the important points which need to be covered on the topic appreciate the same.

Why parents are afraid of children going out is the crimes, violence, children who will be troubled by adults, deviant characters in the society. Injuries which the child would get in the course of play which will be a nuisance value for both parents as well as the child. Too much of studies as education system has become such. Medical bills becoming too costly and in many cases unaffordable. All these create and many other issues and parents being overprotective as they have a single child become causes why children are being denied their proper play hours. Thanks for the share.

    • Thank you Krishna Kumar for your reply.

There are so many factors why parents today tend to be overprotective, and one of them is criminality. There are cases when children are kidnapped, or bullied by other children, or if they are hurt while playing the cost of medication is high, and parents who are working will have to absent from work to look after their child.

In the past, children have more freedom to play outside their homes because it was safer during those days.

    • We have different kinds of friends and one that we treasure most are our best friends who remained loyal and seemed attached to us though we are miles apart.

We also have online friends whom we meet at sites like Literacybase. We consider them as friends because they share the same sentiments; same interests, and same outlook in life.

      We love those friends!

      • Agree with you many of the individuals whom we meet online and at sites like Literacybase share a lot of common interests, sentiments and outlook in life and the distance in this case does not matter. I have met most of my friends online. Here the binding force for many of the individuals is the writing and the profession which they are pursuing out of passion and not out of choice. That is what many friends out here are doing which I appreciate.

Good to hear something which is echoed by many people in deeds and here the thoughts have been put on paper. Even facebook also is one such thing it depends on how one looks at each medium and what he or she is wanting to achieve through it in their life. I wish to thank all friends here. Appreciate your inspirational words and your views on this important subject.

I had to play and the whole procedure used to take around four hours a day and over and above that a walk of around three to four kilometers. But I cherish my sporting career. • True fears play on our mind and fears of different kind are there as mentioned by you in the article. Which fear applies to whom depends on what that person is uncomfortable with. If this is not controlled and understood properly it shifts from one thing to another and then to another. Thus that person tends to fear many things in he or her life and develops fear psychosis. This generates new health problems which are mind related and complex.

The problem is that individual does not realize what is happening to him or her and why they are behaving that way and what is the thing which is causing that fear among them. So the trigger for that is unknown and they also do not realize the problem which they are having in the hand and continue life as normal. Till one day things really get out of control. Then recovery and getting back to the original situation proves very difficult. Use article covering issues related to fears and phobias. Thanks for the share.
