The only time I thought of Macedonia was when I was reading a book about Alexander the Great. Other than that, it’s not a place you’ll hear about in the news.
Not until recently, when it came to light that over 140 Pro-Trump internet sites were created and stuffed by Macedonians.
The young people in that country are quite tech saavy. As Ulsterman, they know how to catch American prejudice and play it.
As everyone knows, a Chap in Northern Ireland, aware of American prejudice, decided to write as a ‘Whitehouse Insider‘ and publish on the writing site ‘Triond’ in ‘newsflavor’ until given his very own sub-site on Stanza, the Triond server.
Ulsterman made it up as he went along. He’d invent, he’d grab pieces of reports, and post horribly anti-Obama rubbish. This was lapped up as cream by Americans who really wanted to believe the worst possible things about their President.
When Triond collapsed in 2015, Ulsterman and his ‘Whitehouse Insider’ went down the tubes.
However, due to the infinite stupidity of many people, there was a frantic search of the Way Back Machine, so that the prose could be located, copied, pasted and reposted. This is because there are still people walking around today who actually believe ‘The White House Insider’ is true.
Yes, it was Einstein who said; “Stupidity is Infinite.”
More recently, a bunch of chaps in Macedonia decided to create various sites on free servers using American sounding names. They would post anti-Clinton/pro-Trump rubbish never leaving their small town outside of Skopje.
The Chaps got Ad Sense accounts, and so, decorated their false articles with Ads.
These ads have generated so much money that some Macedonians earn $5,000 per month or, when an item goes viral, $3,000 per day.
The chaps admit they had no political agenda. They were looking to make money. They saw the market and they filled it. Just as Ulsterman before them.

The Macedonians played US? Oh man! Somebody needs to tell our politicians cause they're going after the Russians! I'm not good at geography but I'm pretty sure Macedonia and Russia are on two entirely different points on the map. You don't suppose the Russians hired the Macedonians. Hmmmm? That would be interesting “connect the dots” scenario.
Maybe I'm the only one that can check an IP? Macedonians had no interest in politics. They were looking for money. It was exactly as Ulsterman did. He created 'The Whitehouse Insider' because he knew people hated Obama and would read anything and believe it.
The chaps in Macedonia tried a number of different ideas before they hit on this one. It was the Macedonians who said the Pope supported Trump.
These are just young men, not political. They were just spoofing.
