I thought it is an entertainment TV segment program where a host is having some blind item. But when I saw it, its the President Rody Duterte delivering his speech in the program of Philippine National Police attended by high ranking and regular police personnel.
But the speech is more like a gossip. Who is this lady senator having an affair with her driver lover and even built him a nice house and collecting money for her campaign. He also called the ‘lady legislator’ as an immoral woman (because her lover is her driver) and link to drug payoffs as her ‘lover’ collecting.
Of course, the President is pointing to Senator Leila De Lima as he said during the press conference though not naming her first name. There is no other lady senator with surname De Lima in the senate.
The almost crying Senator Leila De Lima answered back in her trembling voice that the president’s remarks are foul and should not put her in characterization as they are both professionals and both were elected by the people of the Philippines.
Senator De Lima is the number critic of President Duterte on his anti-drug campaign and was vocal against the extra-judicial killings or summary execution of the people believed to be drug pushers and other drug personalities in the country.
Next week, Senator De Lima’s committee on justice when start the senate inquiry about the harsh and brutal war against illegal drugs in the country.
De Lima, human rights advocate said she support the campaign against illegal drugs but the escalating of numbers of people being killed in police operations are alarming. These does not includes people being summary executed by unknown killers but believe to be from death squad.
If this is the light story of the hard campaign against drugs, I think its not. It just becoming more personal attacks. True or not (of lover of De Lima), the President should be more finesse.

Sadly to say,I don't watch any news about our new president. I don't have the interest of whatever he says live on TV. He seems so loud for me. I don't like his personality. The PNP is in too much exposure lately and it tends to be weird for a policeman to be in TV guesting too. I find it degrading in their profession. They should do their job and not to be exposed on media.
I have seen in politics of all over the world that politicians make scandal war against any lady who is getting popularity among the people or her fans. The Same case is with Leila she is being scandalized by the president of Philippine.
I have read thus that Philippines Senator Leila de Lima on Monday, 7 November, filed a "test case" against President Rodrigo Duterte before the Supreme Court seeking to keep at bay what she calls harassment by the president.
Lima said she had filed a 26-page petition for writ of "habeas data" against Duterte to protect her privacy. "This is a test case, a novel case of transcendental importance. Habeas data is rarely invoked. We are testing the doctrine of presidential immunity," Rappler reported her as saying.
