How do you see yourself 10 years from now? This has been one of the questions asked of me.
I grew up in a small town in Benguet here in the Philippines. During my childhood days, I did not have many worries. All I did was watch cartoon movies such as Lion King, Snow White, Cinderella and much more. I also play with my friends and pretend to be a queen or princess or a fairy with no worries at all. I look back into my childhood days as simple, but meaningful.
As I grew older, I began embracing different beliefs and ways. I started to learn how things progressed and learned about many rules in life.
As life went through days, months, and years things get more complicated. I am no longer a child. I am now an adult and I now have to face reality. As any other child then, I thought life is a fairytale that always had successful conclusions.
The reality is, as I grow old, problems and confusions occur. Sad moments are more frequent than the happy times, filling my head with unspeakable madness.
In life, I understood that sometimes, we couldn’t tell who is right or wrong. Sometimes the person whom we trust betrays us. The best thing we can do is to trust our instincts and expect the unexpected.
Despite the challenges, life can be full of excitement and surprises. There are bad and sorrowful times, but whatever it is, we should never give up. Stand firm.
Now thinking about my future has become a test for me. I begin asking for the answer to the question during my interview. “What will happen to me a few years more from now? Where will I be? What will I be doing?
As I look into the mirror, I see a person of her 20’s preparing to take the next big step of her life- a young woman preparing for the transition and another beginning of her life.
When I close my eyes, I see the person I want to become- a woman who fulfilled every dream she had, supporting her family and engaged with the career she loves.
No matter what happens, I will be brave and confident to deal with the challenges that life has to offer.

"How do you see yourself 10 years from now? This has been one of the questions asked of me."
This and other related questions always pops up in the minds of purpose-driven individuals. Its like a reminder,an inspiration for them to strive to the achieving of their goals.
Moreso, coming to the issues of life, It is common knowledge that life comes in phases, and when each passes will never return. Each phase comes with it's own experiences; the sweet, sour, pain, joy and otherwise. It's left for us to make the best of these phases as they show up, in order to feel fulfilled and accomplished when you look back into your life's journey. Generally, life is never easy, especially if you want to make yours a meaningful one, but with the "God-first mentality, self confidence and resilience, lots of unbelievable achievements are sure..
These lyrical lines inspires me alot.
"Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame.
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned.
But just because it burns
Doesn't mean you're gonna die.
You've gotta get up and try"
Song:TRY by Pink.
@Anita. I agree that the question is a reminder for us to strive more. I appreciate how you interpret that matter. It make sense.
