Let’s the kids play more!

There are two neighbor kids who are at the same age as my son, 7 years old. One is staying just next door, another is staying opposite my house. They always come to my house and play together with my children. They usually play in my front yard, as they always have fun playing there.

My son just told me, both the neighbor kids said this to him, “If your mom were my mom, I would be very happy”. Well, this is really a compliment to me, but of course, that’s because they haven’t seen how fierce I am and I scolded my son before. 😀

I know they said that not because they do not love their mom or they like me, it’s just that I allow my children to play more, and play with more stuffs too. They can play with the water or dirt in my yard, can draw on the ground with chalk, can play with woods and anything I provided them for the yard play. Sometimes they pretend to cook with the leaves or flowers in the yard, with some woods as cooking ware and sticks as utensils. Sometimes they just ride the tricycle and bicycle in the yard, and pretend they are on the road. They also climb up and down in the yard.

I do not limit them how they play in the yard, I just let them play however they like, though there are just some small rules as well – play well and take good care of the things and the plants, no fighting, no hurting, no breaking things. They can play really wild here. Though both of the neighbor kids always said my house is very messy, they seem to be enjoy playing in my messy front yard and home very much. They are always here for playing, I don’t ask them to study or do homework, so they always have fun here, and that’s why they really enjoy coming to my house. Moreover, both of them are the only child in their family, so they are always happy to have friends to play with.

What these kids said actually reflect that nowadays kids spend too few time in playing, or playing in the nature, with the natural stuffs, such as water, dirt, mud, leaves, flowers, sticks, small rocks, etc. It might be very common for the kids who stay in village to play like this or play with the natural elements, but as we are staying in city, not many kids play like this. My kids even get “warned” or “scolded” by other adults who just passed by my house, and asked them not to climb up to the gate or not to play in the rain. I understand some adults would like to protect the kids, but I think it’s good to let kids play, explore and learn. They will gain so much from just playing wild like this. They will also learn how to protect and take care of themselves, and others as well. Moreover, I think their body will be stronger too, my children have not get sick because they play in the rain or play with the water. They actually rarely fall sick.

I just think that, we should let the kids play more, play more in the nature or outdoors. I think most kids love that as well.

Did you get to play a lot when you were young? Do you let your kids play more now?

    • In my opinion, children should be more engage in outdoor activities. That's good technique to let the children have more strength physically as compared to be addicted to indoor activity such as computer games' addiction.

    • yes, the children must play in extra time but they should play before the the parents eyes so that they could see them what they are playing or how they are playing and what type of play they are plying just playing has vast meaning in itself.

Choose the game according to the children age because in the eyes of parents all are children kids, toddlers, babes, young, old...all parents ' issues are children in the parents' eyes.

That is why, I say, children are parents' pleasure, old men's toys and young men's help...baby child is mother's help and a complete family...therefore children must be brought up carefully and keep eye on their all activities.

I advise the parents as an astrologer, because most of the children come to me to check their children's negative trends and some say that they do not pay attention to their studies,,,

Children's nursing is most difficult thing because parents see all their will and wishes in the children's future but dreams come true sometime not.

    • That's correct. Let the children play more, but make sure their safety before letting them play.
As the children play more, they are building their ability to socialize with others and it is where they gain their confidence.
Aside from that, they can also discover their hidden talents and skills by just interacting or playing with other children.
