Years ago, on Hubpages, I noticed particular writers had a 100% score. Wanting to be a top writer, I raced to read what they wrote.
It was over 1000 words which said nothing.
Keywords were repeated every sentence, search terms were in every paragraph.
An item would read something like:
“All over the world people are interested in having a healthy diet. Every one is concerned about a healthy diet. Many people focus on eating right to have a healthy diet.
It is not difficult for you to have a healthy diet. You must learn which foods enable you have a healthy diet…”
(you can imagine 1000 words over and again repeating ‘healthy diet’)
Unable to finish that item I went to another.
“All over the world people are interested in solar power. Every one is concerned about solar power. Many people focus on solar power.
It is not difficult for you to use solar power. You must learn how to use solar power…”
What that writer had done was to create a template, and simply find and replace one set of words with another.
The items don’t say anything, but a person searching for; “Healthy Diet” or “Solar Power” will be directed to this site and these items right after Wikipedia and an advertiser on Google.
duckduckgo, another search engine will not go directly to wikipedia in a search for ‘Healthy Diet’. It will go to webmd, then healthguide. Of course, how many people use duckduckgo?
When it comes to ‘what’s trending’, right now, Google has;
Charles Manson, Batman the Killing Joke, Munich, Pokevision.
A crap writer gets up, does the what’s trending thing, then pops the finding into a crap piece
“All over the world people are interested in Charles Manson. Every one is concerned about Charles Manson. Many people focus on Charles Manson.
It is not difficult to learn about Charles Manson. You must learn which sites have the most information about Charles Manson…”
The Crap writer posts, and goes an does whatever.
Meanwhile, those of us who write, who really write, who write about what we are interested in, what we know and care about, can not please the A.I. which ‘judges’ us.
We don’t repeat ourselves every sentence. We don’t grab what is ‘trending’ beyond ourselves.
We share what we know.
And rate very low on a Google.
