IS VALENTINE A NECESSITY OR A TREND?

February is a Valentine’s Day or a Valentines month for lovers and Single Awareness Day or SAD for the bitter ones. 🙂 🙂 🙂 However, really, is a Valentine necessary, or is it a trend that people follow just to be “in” and the singles to be “out”?

Is it necessary to have a lover on this day, and for the people to be sad if they have none?

I don’t really care about Valentine’s Day. I see it not as a day for lovers but a day for a saint. This day is Saint Valentine’s Day. This is a day made for a martyr who was executed for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering Christians. The lover’s day only started at the High Middle Ages. So is a Valentines necessary?

Is a celebrating a Valentine’s Day as important as oxygen in our daily lives? Most people of those you spend Valentine’s Day with while you are not married will not be your Valentine for the rest of your life. A lasting relationship is very rare these days. But I’m not going to dwell on that. I am just saying that you can be happy without Valentine on Valentine’s Day.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day with a lover started in the 18th century in England. This is where some people express their love for their significant other through confectionery, flowers, and others. Why did it become a necessity?

Material things is not enough. Valentine’s Day is not only for lovers. Single people can be happy too. If you can live without a lover for a day or two, why not live with your family on Valentine’s Day?

A valentine or a partner is not a necessity for all on this day. It is how you spend it that counts.

If two people really love each other, any day would be special and magical for them. So, if you are single on that day, then focus on yourself, your family, your career, or your friends.

Not all people were blessed to have another day. Why waste your time in whining about not having a Valentine? Love is love no matter what day you choose to celebrate. Some people celebrate the anniversary of their relationship on a fixed day, it does not need to be on Valentines Day so as with the so-called “monthsaries”.

Nevertheless, for that day, Valentine’s Day, Love is what matters. Love is the necessity, not the material things you give to someone you love or the Day itself. Moreover, it is not exclusively for lovers only, it is for everyone who felt in love with families and friends.

For those who have lovers, congratulations, go spend the day and be merry. For those who are single, seek happiness from the ones who loves you.

Again, a valentine or a partner on Valentine’s Day is not a necessity, LOVE is.

    • Love cannot be measured in times of Valentine's Day. It doesn't need to eat in a luxurious restaurant for dinner or receive extravagant gifts. The most important thing is celebrated with the people close to our heart and be together on this special day. For young ones, they do believe that this is the best thing to celebrate in very unique way. For old ones, it doesn't matter. A simple menu for the day can work.

    • I agree entirely with you. Valentine, in my case is definitely not a necessity. As you so eloquently said, love cannot be measured or weighed or put in a single day.

    • I don't believe in this concept of Valentine at all. If I am in true love I don't need any specific day to express it.

For me love is my source of living and celebrating this love in 24 hours is just not possible for me.

I love my husband boundlessly and in order to survive and cope with daily stress need to express our love each day. It gives me great strength when my husband says he will always be with me no matter what.

Celebration of this kind of eternal love should be done the whole year round and just not on a specific day.

    • Showing your love on a single day(valentine day)means nothing, love doesnt require any special day to celebrate.love just happens, love is a feeling.i think this is just a waste of money and nothing else.
But now a days it is becoming a trend in youngsters.
