Is it real comedy?

Arj Barker aka Arjan Singh originally from India but lives in American comedian is one of the most popular comedians in many countries. I had a chance to attend one of his shows in Sydney during 2013.

In Australia his theme of show was based on poultry farming. He did his best by spreading his wings along with other comedians to end battery farming in Australia. But, I have yet to understand why he associated it with abortion? Indeed, killing unborn babies is a much more important and much less debated issue than having more free-range hens.

Great seeing comedians hope to end battery chicken farming by joining a campaign to save hens. Sure, by all means, abort the unborn humans but give laying hens their freedom. I don’t understand what abortion has got to do with battery hens.

Of course, these comedians are supporting and bringing awareness to an issue that could use their help, because they were asked to help, that indeed is a great support. But my question is still the same, what does abortion has got to do with animal rights? Just pull your head in guys; can’t our humanity and compassion extend to both women’s and animal rights?

I am not in favor of mixing two issues together even if it was done in the name of comedy. It was almost the same as happened in India recently when a comedian Tanmay Bhat targeted two great celebrities Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar from Mumbai by targeting them in his act.

I feel comedy has gone little too wayward in the last few years. We used to watch few comic things but recently the comedy especially the TV and movie comedy is getting bulgur with double meaning words instead of being laugh and giving a feeling of warmness.

I am stunned the way the comedians are targeting almost anyone or everyone without any hesitation.
