The data collected worldwide suggests that ‘world wide web’ will soon replace television! In fact it has already changed the way the TV is watched in western world but the slow internet speed is one of the factors the effect is not as good in third world countries so far.
It may sound strange to some but the fact is that the internet is fast making its presence felt and getting within the reach of common people especially in developing countries as developed countries have this facility for a long time. The world is getting closer by the expansion of internet at a brisk pace.
The Internet has changed the world in more than one way. It has not only broken the geographical barriers but also changed the views of people by providing them unlimited information on every possible topic available anywhere in the world. The online world has also provided a number of ways of entertainment to common people that they could not even imagine about a decade or so back at least in third world countries.
Most of the channels have arranged to reach entertainment and information via apps including music, serials, movies, sports, news and games. Most people that had no access to Netflix, YouTube, Hot star, Woot, ESPN, Star etc can download these apps and watch what they like and some of these like YouTube is available even offline if downloaded earlier at a convenient time is an added advantage.
I really don’t think so because there will always be people who enjoy watching TV on the screens in their living rooms. Have you tried Game of Thrones season 6 or Eros Now lately? Do it now and get the best of entertainment. I have a TV at my home in my present country where I am living these days which is connected via internet that provides me my favorite channels of my choice from my native country which would not be possible without internet connectivity.
It is amazing how fast the world is changing! We have not much time for viewing TV here, but we know many do enjoy their ‘shows’ and when on the Internet things will be even better. I don’t watch TV a lot and even cancelled my cable since I can use the internet for watching current events, movies or catch up with news, shows I missed and work at the same time, though there are still shows better watched on TV especially when the whole family sits together.
Although, some of us might think differently as I hear a lady saying that her hubby doesn’t read, so he’d be in a sorry state if television ever went away. She also said that their phones are ancient. They do not know how to text or do apps. They do spend more time online than watching TV though people have stopped reading and some have even stopped watching TV too but spending most of their time online. But I wish sincerely that the internet does not make us its slave one day.

I do agree. The Internet has totally changed the whole world. With the Internet, the concept of Globalization has gained momentum. The whole world has become a very small one due to rapid communication development and the Information Technology in particular.The watching T.V has become an old concept in many developed countries and in the developing countries the watching of T.V. is receding with a slow pace. In the case of old people and people who do not know to text and utilize the services of APPs it does not make any difference. They automatically cling to their T.Vs and to their ancient phones. But, even then the educated among this group are trying to learn the things with the help of their kith and kin and granddaughters and grandsons.They are enjoying a lot with the Information Technology.
I have seen even ladies and girls from villages selling vegetables in the urban markets using cell phones and are performing Market transactions in an efficient manner. Everything is going on smoothly in the with good thinking and positive approach and even a small drift crossing the limits may land the humanity in trouble. So, better we chose and use everything in limit keeping the people and their backwardness in view.
