First, you have to find the website. I found the website because of some lovely people on MyLot talking about it. I have already seen some of their beautiful faces and profile pictures on here. Which is a delight to know I am not alone!
Secondly, you have to sign up. Get that cool username…which I normally just use on every other website I go on.
Third, you have to pretend you look at the terms and guidelines and everything. Unless you are me and read that stuff because I really have nothing else better to do in my life and I also do not want to get in trouble!
Fourth, just varify, which I honestly think is the most annoying step. Like, really? I have to open up a tab, go to my email, and then find the email, sometimes have to fish through atrocious spam emails, (not this time because it was front and center for my email), open the email, click that I verify and boom I can actually log it. I know why verifying exists but I hope there is a better tactic of doing this in the future.
Fifthly, (I didn’t actually think that was a word…well then), you open the site and realized…you have no idea what on earth you are supposed to do.
Now there are three paths here that people go after.
One: They just start posting, not caring what is going on.
Two: They spiff up their profile, add a picture, make sure all their information is correct. I would have been this person but for some reason the site already had a picture of my face…weird, and I also had no other pictures on my computer.
or Three: Look up the how tos of what you are supposed to do on this site. Yeah I am normally that person because I like to know what is going on, what kind of writer I should be, I write with a lot of voice so I want to know that is okay.
and then the final step of how to be a new person on a website is to just have fun. If you finally realized this is a site that fits your fancy, have fun and enjoy your time. You might find some great friends, learn something, and experience something new! Which is what I hope for from this website!
