You’ve all heard the remark of Trump’s pawn, Kellyanne Conway, about ‘Alternate Facts.’ We laughed, we went into the usual jokification; but hey! There are such things!
Alternate facts is also called “Gaslighting”. This is one of those ‘light torture’ tactics in which to gain more power, it forces the victim to question their reality.
Psychologists label it a common technique used by abusers, dictators, narcissists, and cult leaders. It is done slowly, so the victim doesn’t realize how much they’ve been brainwashed.
Alternate Facts is a method of manipulation used by the Donald Trump and his administration.
With Trump, facts have become interchangeable with opinions. These ‘alternate facts’ over trick us into arguing amongst ourselves, for it calls our reality into question.
Gaslighting is a feature of the Trump presidency.
There is a website called alternativefacts.com where you will learn how to spot 11 signs of gaslighting.
No. 1 on the list? Blatant Lies.
You know it’s a lie. Yet, you are being told this with a straight face. Such as the fact Trump had far less people at his inauguration than did Obama.
Yet, with a straight face, as if it is unquestionably true, you are shown the images, yet told, Trump had more people.
Why is the lie so blatant? You are being set up. Once you hear a lie of that enormity, you’re not sure if anything they will say is true. This keeps you off balance, and this is the Goal.
Constant lies allow a gaslighter to trick their victim into confused submission. Once people are confused they are vulnerable. They don’t know what to do.
By discrediting the Press the average person doesn’t know what to believe or think and people begin to substitute their own news, their own version of reality.
Once Donald Trump undermines America’s trust in all media, he owns them and can implant his own version of reality.
It is a deliberate process.
Clearly, anyone who sees the images of Inauguration then and now can not but recognise that Trump had less people. For him to claim more, for his ‘advisors’ to claim “More than anyone” leaves people to make up their own versions of reality to fit into Trumpspeak.
The best image is seeing Captain Picard, held by the Cardassian, who shows him Four Lights and demands he say Five.
Most people are not as strong as Captain Picard, so will, as in 1984 say 2 + 2 =5.
