Are you one of the “blessed” persons in your place? You are well-off than others; you have enough or even more enough for yourself and for you family’s needs. You have so much investments or have a nice-paying job, and you had saved enough for retirement, and for the future of your children.
The Poor Makes Lives Better
Take the case of a poor woman who have to support five children on her own. She had to do odd jobs to keep her family alive. She will offer her labor, her services for a meager income. She will be your laundrywoman; wash your dirty clothes, even by hand not using a washing machine. Then she will hang it to dry, or iron it after drying. Then you will have your closets arranged with nicely ironed clothes you can wear anytime!
She will clean your house; scrub your floor, sweep it till it is spic and span. Your whole house would be smelling and looking nice and orderly.
Then the woman will go to your garden. Remove dried leaves and twigs, water the plants or do some repotting of plants, or trim those that were already out of shape. She will also remove the weeds, or fertilize the plants.
The next time she will go to your pets. If you have dogs and cats, she will bathe them, groom them or take them to short walks for exercise.
That poor woman makes your life easier, more comfortable because instead of you doing all those chores, she does it all for you in exchange for some money. The question now is this: “Do you help her in her and her family by paying the right amount in exchange for her services?”
Treat Them Right
It is not right to treat househelps as slaves, like just giving them the scraps. There are laws now setting the wage for househelps. They should also be enrolled in Social Security System so they can have something to rely on when they can no longer work.
It will also help ensure the future of their children.
By being good to them, they will reciprocate your kindness by being efficient in their jobs. They will give you loyalty whenever you need their help in the household. They will treat you as a relative, as their family too.
Little things, little help, can go a long way towards changing the poor woman’s life.

Once a year in our country are organized donations evenings on a TV, one for kids , other for poor people, and people can donate some money. I like these events and people donate millions just in one evening. Also, I donate some money if there is need for medication or surgery for any poor child. And few times a year we have so called "Food Bank" days, when we can buy some food and leave to the organizers at supermarkets, the food then is distributed to the poor ones.
Those are very good projects in your country. I wish there could be one like that here in our place, so that the poor can have a share of their wealth.
The beneficiaries should first be evaluated by the organizers to see if they really qualify to be given assistance.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful event for the needy in your place.
