The good virtues of life

The advent of the TV revolutionized the ways of human life. Needless to mention, it has hurried the process of learning and accelerated the spirit of competition. It is today a fast nailed truth that the boys who are poor and live in remote areas-however brilliant they may be integrally-fail to catch up.

Education, today, is becoming more and more a privilege for the affluent. On the other hand the rate at which the poverty-line of our country slides upward is negligibly nothing according to the statistics of the politicians. Naturally, the above paradox indicates clearly that the rate, at which scientists in our country are gaining on our teachers, is proving alarming.

However it is not the case in affluent countries like the U.S.A., Germany, Australia or Japan. They tell their students the realities of their glorious past and stick to them religiously. They teach them about virtues of life before they teach their students reading letters or counting to ten.

The scientist is basically a man of the outer world, the phenomenal reality. The teacher lives in a world of ideas. Today several disciplines like psychology, geography are grouped under science. The data-fed computers render near accurate pictures or readings. But philosophy, literature, religion or similar disciplines that thrive mainly on ideas are still the domain of teachers.

They train and discipline society in a manner that science can seldom claim to contest. The famous controversy regarding truth (scientific) and beauty (artist’s quest) between Rabindranath Tagore and Albert Einstein is too well known. Both are correct from their respective standpoint.

But Tagore’s view that but for man this creation is simply a void, gives a more integrated view of humanity. Naturally the teacher’s role, because it is more intimate and more personal, has a powerful impact in society. A scientist’s objective and impersonal approach to human problems also helps us.

It corrects our tendency to become over-emotional or sentimental. The two are not mutually exclusive, but complementary.

    • The importance of the work of teachers in our daily lives cannot be overemphasized.

No matter how much the government tries to avoid or relegate the issue of teachers and their welfare to the background, it doesn't conceal the Fact that they are doing a great job and need to be seriously appreciated.

But we need to still look more on science and encourage it and its teachers

    • Religion and Science context cannot compliment each other. The are some truth of facts in science that cannot be acceptable to the religious doctrines. In some point, it became confusing for students to know what is right or wrong.

Personally speaking, when I was in high school days. I had so many questions that even teachers can't explain it well. For instance, Charles Darwin gave his theory of the Evolution of Man and claimed that we as humans came from apes. It definitely contradicts the point in the Bible.

For some reason, I had stopped asking them. The best thing that I tried to conquer the answers is to read more about the facts in the context and religious beliefs. Eventually. I realized that these two ideas cannot compliment each other. Thus I took the learning process and take the time to acquire good moral values and inculcate to my mind the virtues needed to humans.

    • Perhaps we need a balance between the tough, logical and scientific approach and a Humane approach based on emotions and feelings. A great and thought-provoking post indeed. Sharing ahead too.

    • For me, the true virtue in life is know your creator which is God, live your life to the fullest knowing all the essential truths about your own salvation, and to give love and hope for everyone who go astray inspite all the many trials in life that will come our way. Very often, when studying religious matters is very contradicted with science. For science is only rational for human mind. Religious matters is beyond our human understanding for it is supernaturally solemnly defined by the church which can never fail for it was revealed by God himself to teach his law to all of his people.
