It is said that he has Native American heritage: Cherokee. That’s cool! Supposedly my heritage also includes Cherokee mixed in the background, somewhere on my mother’s side. That practically makes us kin! 🙂
Some may know Mr. Jones from his comedic role in Men in Black. The first MIB flick was released in 1997. There have been so many sequels that I stopped counting. Re-sharing a tidbit picked up in one of the hype-announcement type interviews on of one those entertainment TV shows where they chat with the stars about the upcoming film in order to get people interested enough to watch the movie. Will Smith co-starred in MIB and he was asked what it was like working with Tommy Lee Jones. He said something to effect: “He’s a pussy cat.”
A pussy cat? Really? You mean like … a soft purring gentle sweet little pussy cat? Interesting description. Because my first impression of Tommy Lee Jones was created by “The Executioner’s Song”. He had me thoroughly convinced he was heartless cold-blooded killer! Ever saw this movie? Remember that scene where he robbed the gas station and what he did to the gas station attendant?

When he was younger, I thought it was good at playing a bad guy. But as he got older, I definitely wanted to see him take the role of the good guy. He did two crime thriller movies. The first one, “The Fugitive” (1993) where he was paired with Harrison Ford was much better than the sequel, “U.S. Marshals” (1998), where he was paired with Wesley Snipes.
