Facebook, WhatsApp, Hike and now Hello

I am on Facebook for only 7 years but when this site started almost 12 years before no one might have thought that one day the information technology will change the definition of friendship. I have all of 410 friends on Facebook right now but I know only a few of them really well because I have not added any of my relatives in my FB account.
I have few of my coworkers whom I have referred to certain writing sites on their request. However, what I wanted to say is that Facebook has emerged as one of the platforms for different activities online or making friends with far-flung areas but it has also played a big role in leaving the real friends out of your life living in your neighborhood.

I know lots of my coworkers and real life friends glued with their phones and tablets even during the working hours chatting with their online friends but neglecting the ones sitting around them. And why blame Facebook but mobile messenger apps like WhatsApp and Hike have made things even more complicated.
I was reading a news item that said that Orkut Buyukkokten, the founder of Orkut has plans to bring Orkut back with a new name of Hello in near future and I know with my personal experience it was as addictive as Facebook or maybe a little more for me because I used to play online chess with players always willing to play. I was right there in top ten of Orkut online chess players’ list.
While on the topic of Hello let me tell you it is from former Orkut the social network creator which used to be too popular but once Facebook arrived it went into oblivion. Most Orkut lovers were shocked when it was shut down in 2014 by Google. Now it is back in form of Hello but it will be available to mobile users only.
