I am a nature lover that includes both flora and fauna. There is enough and more in our garden to attract birds. It is a joy to see them around enjoying the greenery around, relishing the fruits that grow on our trees. The birdbath that has been installed is in great use specially in summer. Their chirps while frolickingn in there is music to my ears. The saying ‘Birds of a feather flock together’ is not always true as I see many specieis frolicking in the birdbath together.
If there is one bird that I detest and that is the kite or eagle as it is called. I have reasons to. As a kid I remember mother getting quite worried when she heard the cry of the eagles. They would just swoop down and take away her chickens. Once a kite had dropped a chicken in our compound. Mother restored it and fed it till the dying day as its beak had gone crooked and it could not eat on its own. Mother was great with animals and birds.
But eagles do have majestic looks. We do get them here occasionally and when they give out that long whining cry I get reminded of my days gone by.
This eagle in the picture was hovering around for quite a while and we do not know what it was targeting. at. We do not have chicks but we do have birds that visit our garden and probably it was looking for one of them.
It was flying quite high and that sight with the sky as the background was worth a click but that view was quick and I missed it. It finally perched on our water tank. I found it to be a perfect subject for a perfect photo. I quickly got my camera and it posed for me. I was very happy with the results.

It is your idea that every bird is welcomed except the kite why kite is also a beautiful bird looks good while flying and preying. But I think that The lilting Swallow-tailed Kite has been called “the coolest bird on the planet.” With its deeply forked tail and bold black-and-white plumage, it is unmistakable in the summer skies above swamps of the Southeast.
Flying with barely a wingbeat and maneuvering with twists of its incredible tail, it chases dragonflies or plucks frogs, lizards, snakes, and nestling birds from tree branches. After rearing its young in a treetop nest, the kite migrates to wintering grounds in South America.
Swallow-tailed Kites are large but slender and buoyant raptors. They have long, narrow, pointed wings, slim bodies, and a very long, deeply forked tail. The bill is small and sharply hooked.
These birds are creatures of the air, spending most of their day aloft and rarely flapping their wings. They tend to circle fairly low over trees as they hunt for small animals in the branches. At times they soar very high in the sky, almost at the limits of vision. During migration they may form large flocks.
Look for Swallow-tailed Kites over swamps, marshes, and large rivers of the southeastern U.S., particularly in Florida. At the end of summer, all the Swallow-tailed Kites in the U.S. leave and migrate south to South America.
It is one's experience with birds that decides to accept or reject a bird.
