Do You Like Those Who Post So Many Photos on Facebook?

Do you spend so much time on Facebook? Do you like people who post so so many selfies? Or those who post pictures of what they had eaten, what dress they wore, or places they had been?

For me, I like to see places, but not so much of the food they had eaten. It is of poor taste, or sends a wrong message of bragging. Do you unfollow them or you just scroll and do not comment or click “like?”

Since Facebook was born (February 4, 2004 but February 5 in our country according to Google), many people used it as a means of conveying messages. A member can see updates about his family and friends.

But for so many years, Facebook has been a medium of things good and bad. Just like fire, it can be useful to man and can be devastating too depending on how you use it. It can cook food, can generate heat, can cleanse, and can be used to shape iron as done by tinsmiths, and so many multiple uses. But it can ruin, it can kill people when homes or their dwelling places are burned, or it can kill plants, trees and wildlife in cases of forest fires. This is just my analogy of facebook and fire.

Facebook as News Medium

Through the years, Facebook has been the main source of news for so many people specially those who do not have time or access to newspapers or television. Even for busy people, they can instantly be updated on local and national news when friends post important updates. It is the good aspect of Facebook.

How about the dark side of it? It is being used by people to scam other people. Many were fooled into investing in some fictitious business, or people applying for fake and non-existent jobs. Honest people who wanted to earn something from a good investment, or young people looking for good jobs locally or abroad were victimized.
The same is true for people seeking for life partners. Young women falling prey to human trafficking or prostitution; some scammed by blackmailers who threaten to post indecent photos of the girl if the girl will not give in to their monetary demand.
These are only a few of the negative effects of Facebook. It became a vehicle for those with dark intentions to further their wicked aims.

Fake News

It is so sad that there are people who post fake news. Or maybe they had shared news which they thought were true. They do not verify it first before believing and sharing it to their friends.

Many fake news, or black propaganda spread on Facebook especially during local or national elections. This is the worst part of it. It can break or make a candidate. People were not given the right choices; the real character of the candidates. Many spin doctors spend so much time thinking on how to influence voters in favor of their candidates. So Facebook users should not easily believe or jump into conclusions or make decisions.

Facebook is flooded with the good and bad intentions. The member should scrutinize well what was posted there. especially sensitive matters before clicking “like” or sharing it to his friends.

It is the user who has the power to think and use it to his advantage. What do you think?

    • people now a days are so vulnerable. believing anything they read on the internet.

Maybe we cannot blame some of them for what was written was believable.

I hope that we can be discriminating in choosing what we read.

For those who are posting selfies, food, or places where they have been, I believe it is their freedom to so. Maybe they have a purpose in posting these photos.

      • I agree with you, some people could had a purpose for posting so much selfies, food and places they went; maybe for advertising and promotions purposes. Just respect them for doing it, anyway we can always scroll down
        or ignore.

For those posting fake news, they should think otherwise. They should think
        of the consequences.
