Divisions of the Mind

What Causes Division and Segregation?

Mindsets create division and differences. If one side believes that they deserve to have things a certain way and another feels the same and there’s no agreement then a division will occur. The division will continue until all parties decide to “unite” but if the views are too disconnected then it’s possible that unifying may not occur. The reality is, discrimination, and racism exist and no matter who tries to deny its existence. The issues exist. It doesn’t matter how much activism there is in our society. There will always be people who disagree with others and may be unwilling to accept that not everyone will be in agreement. It’s alright to disagree but if the disagreeing creates hostile environments then there needs to be some intervention. Civil Rights leaders and activists are continuously fighting for people’s rights. Everyone has a right to live in peaceful environments.

Not wanting to unify is something that will hurt each and everyone of us on earth. Children need to be exposed to “diversity.” That’s how they’ll learn more about other cultures. With the constant rise of hate. Unifying seems to be a difficult task to complete. There will always be people who believe that certain groups don’t deserve to elevate. If the mindset is changed then people will see and understand that anyone who wants to elevate can do so.

Perhaps instead of trying to hold people back. People should consider helping themselves move forward. There’s no need to be stuck in the 50’s or 60’s. We’ve come along way but we’ve got a long way to go. If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was here today. He would be satisfied with what civil rights activist accomplished but he will also be disappointed with the mentality of so many groups of people. The constant need to be right and to feel that others don’t deserve better will only create a dim environment. Yes, society needs a turn around, the mindsets of the people need to change.

Hopefully one day there will be more peace. As long as earth exists there will never be complete peace but we can find some “peace.” For now. Those who believe in advocating and standing up not only for themselves but for others. They’ll have to continue because at some point there will be some “progress.”Some days will be filled with greater troubles but no activist should stop advocating just because things become rough.

We must remain hopeful and stay encouraged even when things are all jumbled up. We’re living in some tough times and if we don’t change our mindset then we’ll be surrounded by complete madness. There’s trouble in the world and there’s people who only believe see things with disconnected visions. Those who will create chaos in order to get their way but as long as there’s strong activism. There can be some changes. Whether people agree or not things will forever change. Unifying will create better environments. There’s a lot of segregation and we have to find ways to “rebuild.”

    • Unity in diversity is what one should aspire for. Each of our DNAs for example make us what we are - different in so many ways. Agree to disagree could also be a way to move on in life.

    • The brain has it convoluted and Broadman's areas. These Broadman's areas have its function to our body systems. All the thinking come to our brain functions. It is very complex but it takes a matter of time to unlock the secret of our minds. All the senses can bring into the unified action of our body.
