The Curious Case Of Police Chief Dela Rosa

He just received it as gratitude from Senator Manny Pacquiao—who won via unanimous decision against former World Boxing Organization champion Jessie Vargas. It was a treat for a friend: free plane ticket, hotel accommodation, foods and some visits to the landmarks of Nevada.

Philippine National Police chief general Ronald Dela Rosa was all happy because of the victory of his friend Manny Pacquiao. He was hanging out with him and celebrating with all the smiles and good feeling because of the expected win by boxing senator Pacquiao. General Dela Rosa were seldom seen at the back of Pacquiao before and after the fight—in the ring or in the hotel or other venues.

But after the celebration and relaxing vacation in the United States—he is now in the hot water, particularly to the Office of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales who said the PNP chief is to be investigated because of his acknowledgement and acceptance to the treat of Manny Pacquiao.

The Ombudsman said Dela Rosa might have violated the law when he accepted the gifts of the fighting senator. Because of this, the PNP chief could face probe and possible jail if proven guilty of the said offense.

Too bad, the jolly and hard hitting to criminal Dela Rosa could be the best target of the case which could involve many government officials and employees who have been going to Las Vegas every time Manny Pacquaio has fight. Why single out General Dela Rosa. This has been the practice since Pacquiao become a politician. Lots of these politicians and government officials are benefitted from the good Samaritan boxer. He treat them with plane tickets, venue tickets, hotel accommodation. Actually, this last fight, Pacquiao admitted he spent $1.5 million just for these matters.

Anyway, the loving father and good husband replied that if it’s the reason he would be into jail, he will accept it— as long as he given his family happiness and joy.

    • Yes, there are some crimes that becomes mysterious for the police and also for the government because they cannot understand its real nature and the criminals. They commit crimes in a cunning way that none can understand who has done it without finding any proof on earth.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa said Monday they already have an idea on who the mastermind is in the Davao blast which claimed the lives of 14 people and injured 70 others.
“Mastermind of the bombing ... we already have an idea on who they are or who he is. Meron na kaming idea but hindi pa namin ipapa-public because we are still [in] the process of case buildup against him, against them,” Dela Rosa told reporters in Lipa, Batangas where he led the launching of the PNP Cup.

Dela Rosa insisted on his earlier theory that the bombing has something to do with narco-terrorism but he refused to elaborate.
“Hindi muna ako magsalita hanggang hindi pa namin ma-connect. We have to connect all the dots to have an airtight case against the suspects. So hindi ko masabi na sila yung narco-politicians na tinutukoy natin who funded the bombing ... that terror attack,” he said.

The PNP chief believes that when they arrest the suspected bomber, that person would subsequently identify the mastermind.
“Kung makuha natin yung suspect ... then tutuga na siya sa nag-fund, then airtight na yung ating kaso,” he said.
He assured the public that they are doing everything to arrest the bomber who is now hiding in Central Mindanao.

      • With this accomplishment of PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa including the accomplishments on war against drugs, lowering the number of criminality in the country and making the policemen honorable and not horrible-- and now here is the Ombudsman trying to pin down the PNP chief with this issue-- being treated with free plane, ring ticket and accomodation by Manny Pacquiao. Oh my, should Pacquiao invite also Ombudgsman Conchita Carpio Morales.

    • I hope this article should not single out to one-sided perception. I will not say anything about him or anyone who is in a higher position. The only thing I can say is to let the local people open their eyes what's the real truth behind the wrong or good action.

Our country is having political turmoil and I am not liking it. Is this what we need in the Philippines? I don't think so. The vulgar words uttered in public is not ideal. We still need to be humble despite having political power. Let us pray for the Philippines!
