Concrete Jungles and the Hapless Animals

A jungle today is gone tomorrow. That is the plight the world over. We see more of concrete jungles than greenery which once existed.  This has created an unhealthy environment for human beings. At the same time with increase in population it is inevitable that housing is provided.  But there is a way to handle this.

Animals are upset. They do not know what to do and where to go. Obviously they will be found in human habitats.

Humans will not tolerate that. They will kill them all – one by one. There will be reptiles, lions, peacocks, bears running helter-skelter seeking shelter not knowing what is in store for them.

For human beings they are enemies, least remembering that they have robbed their habitats and replaced them with concrete jungles and the animals have nowhere to go but get into human habitats. .

We need these animals. They maintain the ecological balance not to speak of the jungles that play a huge role too in this phenomena.

Human beings have no plans to replace what they have cut down.

– This they can very well do by using land that has been left fallow over the years. There is plenty of this all over the globe. They only need to plant trees and

– prepare a shelter for these displaced animals, rather than mercilessly kill them. It is the duty of every human to take care of the environment which they have destroyed,  in their own interest as,  if the ecological balance is not maintained that will be the end of this world –  a gradual process.

-When an animal or a reptile is spotted rather than getting rid of them  sources that know how to take care of them, should be contacted. They will trap them unharmed and send them to jungles that still exist.

– In our household we spot reptiles. Immediately we contact the snake catcher who comes and gets them and leaves them in forests nearby. We pay him for the services.

We have created an ambiance in our own garden to invite birds that have plenty of fruit trees to enjoy and a birdbath where they frolic, quench their thirst and have enjoy.

If individuals took some trouble and contributed their bite a lot can be achieved.

    • Th problem is that we do not follow sustainable development practices. People traditionally used to follow sustainable practices.
The preserved animal habitats, used to cut trees only as much required and left others.
Instead of fast tracking Road Infrastructure, except for Border security issues, we need to follow practices where least trees are cut and least damage is done to animal habitats- tough but doable.

      • We are beginning to do sustainable development but I have to wonder if it's too little too late.

      • If individuals contribute that will be more than enough. One tree per individual can more than make up for the cutting down of trees.

    • We all should plant in our countries and in jungle also we must grow plant for animals and birds and beasts so that they could survive in the jungle. You don’t have to be an environmental psychologist to understand that plants look attractive. But dig a little deeper beneath their beauty and you’ll discover that the benefits of interior landscaping go far beyond the aesthetic.

Most of us know instinctively that being close to greenery makes us feel more at ease with our surroundings. We experience less stress when there are plants around us. Buildings are quieter and more relaxed but, at the same time, more stimulating and interesting. A substantial body of academic research, has shown conclusively that interior landscaping has dramatic effects on the wellbeing of building occupants.

Plants have long been used to reduce noise from busy roads. More recently, research has shown another benefit: interior plants can help to reduce background noise levels inside buildings, too.

Our own studies indicate that plants and their leaves absorb, diffract or reflect background noise, thereby making the environment more comfortable for the occupants.

With our support, Peter Costa, a postgraduate student at South Bank University, London, found that certain plants are particularly good at absorbing high frequencies.

Plants absorb sound best in acoustically live spaces, such as those that feature hard surfaces. Learn more about the benefits of interior landscaping.
