THE COLOR THERAPY AND THE TREATMENT

Sadasiva Baba was  in his wooden swing in an Ashram at 10 Km from Tirupati . He was an expert in curing the diseases by keeping his hand over the heads  of the devotees.

Another Baba was using a color Band to cure the disease of his regular devotee and a Mullah was sitting near the Mosque  was advising somebody to wear a lucky metal pendant or  a Taweez (Amulet)

I visited the Chotanikkara Temple during my Sabarimala Tour in Kerala. I saw people buying a black colored thread which they had to wear around their wrist. Interestingly I also bought one and wore it. The next year when I visited the same temple I was surprised when I  was suggested to purchase one in red color. I did it. I needed an answer for changing the color from black to red this year .

I have been making a comparative study of these aspects. I found an answer for the above  questions  in the  Color Therapy.

The Color Therapy is an ancient practice known to Egyptians and Greeks. The Therapy deals with colors and color combinations  for for curing diseases. The use of medicines has no place in color therapy and they are substituted with color potions and other herbs.

Here the white light which is a composition of 7 colors known in short as VIBGYOR is used in curing various diseases along with individual colors and if necessary with the combination of colors.

As per this theory each color in the white light is associated with an organ  in the human body.

If a man sits in meditation, the Hypothalamus absorbs the white light  and splits it in to seven colors. Each color will be in a bond with some organ of the body  and distributed to the associated organ in the body in the appropriate proportion.

If this distribution is affected and if there is an imbalance between the colors the person will be affected by a disease associated with that organ. Now, by an external application, if the balance is achieved in that particular color the person can be cured of his disease.

But what is this aspect of Color? For a lay man it may be a color which is in his sight and which he observes in his surroundings.

But, this can not be so, for specialists who mastered the term and made a research over it.  The color is as what is said earlier is a composition of 7 colors with each color having definite wavelength and band width.

If we take a Spectrograph of visible light the  information relating to  the wavelengths of each radiation having particular color can be known.

1.An examination shows that the Infrared will have lower frequency range and the Ultra violet region will be at higher frequency. Lower frequency means higher wavelength and higher frequency means lower wavelength.

2. Each color indicates a definite amount of energy associated with each frequency.

3.From the above it will be construed that the various colors are various radiations having definite amount of energy with which the particles in them will be vibrating. This is the internal energy of each color.

Now coming to the human bodies  each cell of the human organ in the body will have definite vibration and energy and it will respond to only certain energy of particular color . The term for this phenomenon is ‘Aura’

If any deficiency in the color is felt in the  ‘Aura’ it appears around the cells of the organs. This deficiency in color can be rectified by supplying/supplementing   the color /energy that is found deficient in appropriate proportions.

The colors associated with different parts of the Body is listed below;

Above the Naval, Stomach Area : Yellow

Center of Chest       : Green

Throat Region         : Blue

Fore Head, between the eyes    : Indigo

Top of Head            : Violet

A lot of research has been taken up in the field of color Therapy  and it has been established that  the red color acts as a stimulant of blood and the colors  yello and orange act as  nerve stimulants. The Blue and violate colors act as  soothing and anti-inflammatory agents and affect on the human system.

There are various methods that are used in Color Therapy.

1.        Using different colored crystals

If the patient is suffering from insomnia, placing a blue or violet crystal on his forehead or just near the sides of the eyes the patient is adopted.

2,   Using water

By addding some herbs or potions  to the water it is given a particular color  and the patient is given bath with this water constantly till the condition improves.

3.         Suggesting garments of a particular color

3.        Using monochromatic light (Light having a particular wavelength only) the patient is exposed to the required colour till the deficiency is filled up.

Similarly there is  a relationship between different elements and colors.

Each element is associated with one particular color. When an element is heated it emits a particular color characteristic of that element. The element copper emits Bluish Green flame, the iron emits an yellow flame, and the Potassium iodide emits the Violet flame. Basing on this the performance of Yagnas. Which Yagna has to be performed and what are the ingredients to be used (that give out various colors)

Similarly, wearing of Pendants  made of different metals and  the wearing of cotton thread bands of different colors.

It is only from 1959 the method of color therapy gained momentum.

But, still the modern scientists are not agreeing the Color Therapy as a rational one for want of scientific explanation which can not be corroborated with laboratory experiments.

    • I think colors are really therapeutic for the people to see,
Some people had their passion of coloring some books.
No wonder why some artists are good in painting and love every colors laid on the table.
I am pretty sure they were so relaxed after having their masterpiece.

    • Yes, colors play an important role in human and leave a greater effect on human and soul whenever people know it not just like and dislike colors in common life.

In every man and woman's minds these questions appear that does color affect our health? Can it change our mood, make our muscles weak or affect our sleep even if the room is dark with no color actually visible to the naked eye?

      What these show...

Fire – Passion and high energy.
      Earth – Nourishment and stability.
      Metal – Clarity and Preciseness.
      Water – Ease and abundance.
      Wood – Growth and vitality

Black is the absence of color and as such, lowers energy. Soft pinks, blues and other pastel shades are most restful and good for the bedroom environment. Red is not a good color to use in children’s rooms as it is too stimulating. Even red drapes or other accessories can disrupt sleeping patterns and make it difficult to settle children down at night for bed

Mr. Birren says about light and color in these words: The magical properties of light and color, granted by men since the earliest of times, accepted, renounced and accepted again through the ages, have forever held fascination. It would be delightful, of course, if a thing of such psychological beauty - color - also held a mundane role in human physiological well-being.
