How to choose the path for your child

We often read the success stories of famous musicians, idols, rich

merchants and world leaders having gone through their childhood days as

any normal child in the neighborhood into a talented person.

Were their successful path chosen by their parents or themselves?

Did they chose their path without parents guidance or support?

How do you choose the right path for your child to be a useful and

successful person when he grows up?

If you are a wise parent, you will not choose the path for your child.

Instead, you will do your best, help him by making some research on

different fields, find out the successful stories behind those famous people

who had taken the path most.

Do you know that Rowan Atkinson had studied Engineering before he

became a famous actor?

Choosing the path that you had long desired, wanted to be but failed to

achieve, it is not right to pass the responsibility to your child in order to

succeed on your behalf.

What you had planned in mind may backfire instead.

Indeed, many parents had made decision what path their child should

venture in when he grows up.

However, is your child enjoying the walk that you had decided for him?

Maybe not.

The disadvantages of deciding the path for your

child

When your child grows up under your control, without having the choice to

decide which path he could choose, he may turned into an obsessive, dull,

unbalance characteristic and behavior.

He is certainly not stupid because every child is clever in his own trade of

 talent.

Every child is unique and special in his own way.

However, when a child had mastered and inherited the skill of one field,

he may face difficulties to survive in today’s world of increasing demand.

Most employers prefer employees who have talents in different sectors,

a lively and socialize person with quick thinking solutions.

If you child had been pressured to learn a path that he disliked but his

parents LIKED BEST, he is most likely unable to survive in a world of

demanding leaders and becomes stagnant in his own cubicle world.

What should parents do?

#1  – Expose your child

Introduce different fields to your child at young age.

Get him to touch and learn various field of talent slowly.

Do not sign him up 4-5 lessons in a week.

Allow your child to create his hidden talent gradually.

It takes time and passion for him to love the field(s) that he is interested in.

A great exposure of different subjects such as Arts – drawing ( an artist ),

Sports- badminton, football ( a sportsman ), playing music instrument

( a pianist, violinist ), building blocks ( an architect), clothes ( a designer )

 and many more.

#2 – Give your child the right environment

Never ignore your child.

He needs your guidance and training to reach for his preferred path.

All you need to do is provide him the environment for him to explore.

If he likes sports, take him to the sport centre for training.

# 3 Words of advice

Encourage your child to fulfill his own ambition NOT yours.

Parents frequently mistaken that their child’s ambition is the same as theirs.

Give him words of advice, help him by doing research on the subject that

 he is interested in.

Teach him how to find the details, what, where , how to do it.

Give him the freedom to choose what he wanted to be.

Give him a space where he can live his own life, he needed to learn how to

 be independent one day.

Do you choose the path for your child since young?

Do you allow your child to choose what field he is keen to explore?

Did your parents insisted that you should give up you dream?
