Child Labor: A Curse on Earth

Child labor is a curse on earth and it means to employ the children for manual job and thus they cannot get education for their better future and thus in the country spreads poverty and unemployment all over the world. Child labor is harmful socially, religiously, economically and spiritually all over the world. Child labor is banned all over the world but in spite of this child labor job is being performed in all countries developed and under developed countries openly.

The International Child Labor Organization has estimated that 213 million children do the job of child labor all over the world age 5 to 17 years and it is illegal in all countries. The children do these jobs as a child labor as in the field of agriculture, fishing, manufacturing, mining and in homes are employed for domestic but all these jobs are illegal but why the government do not take any sever step to uproot it all over the world.

In Pakistan child labor is common but the officers of the government take bribery and do nothing against it. The government knows this horrible fact and the government MNAs and MPAs also get heavy bribery. Thus in Pakistan all types of negative activities are common as killing, theft, street crimes under the supervision of SHOs.

Child labor means: to hire small children for constant hand work on low wages. But it is against human rights but it is a need of time. Its main cause is increasing population of the world. It is not the problem of Pakistan but the problem of the whole world. In the broader sense, it is the oldest problem people realize it now. According to UNO report at least 50 caror children of the world are making child labor.

All the European countries are against child labor but the Europeans come in flock in poor countries to use girls and boys and call it enjoyment or sexual child labor. Such types of activities affect children physically, mentally and spiritually. It is a fact that 95 per cent children make child labor to feed their families.

In Pakistan, most of the children make child labor due to their poor economic condition. The parents’ bread and butter rest on children’s earning. If they do not work their families get starvation. In India a lot of people do child labor for their poor parents. In Nepal, most of the children make child labor especially to make brick all day, In Bangladesh, most of the small children work in dress-making factories. None takes any action against this act.

In Mexico and New York half of the populations work in the field early and late. The children help in preparing pesticide spray and are physically hurt. But those who work in tobacco factories get lung cancer. But no one pays attention to this increasing problem. Just written laws of child labor are sufficient but practical awards its result.

Looking at this sad situation UNO compels the whole world countries to pass an authentic bill against child labor so that their human rights may be saved and on growing up they lead better live their own countries. It is safe for the bright future of the whole world. At this call, the whole world countries have signed the bill but a few countries are not taking part in it knowingly. The countries who do not sign Child Labor Bill are United Arab Ararat, Somalia, Oman, Ireland, Switzerland and America. These countries make hue and cry against child labor. America does not sign contract Child Labor Law. It is shame for America and the Americans.

To sum up, if we want to eradicate child labor throughout the world we shall have to ponder over this serious problem. On the other hand, it is against all types of religions of the world. It is an immoral act which is against God, Religion and Society.

It is high time to spend 25 per cent of the national budget on the small children welfare for the sake of world bright future. UNO shall have to get 06 billion dollar-resource from the whole world and must spend the dollars under her custody. So that small children could go schools to get education for the survival of their families and country in which they living.

    • Child labor is prevalent in countries all over the world where there is economic disparity and huge socioeconomic disparities caused between the haves and have not's. The financial problems in the house force the children to go to work after their schooling is stopped as parents are unable to afford school fees and they need more hands to earn money. This puts them in this pathetic situation out of which they can never come out. Thus a their whole is life is wasted which could have been lived better and they would have grownup into educated individuals taking part in nation building activities. This child labor forces a whole generation to lag behind and income disparities to rise which does not do any good to the nation where such a thing is happening. Laws have been framed but not implemented in a successful way. The result is there for all of to see. Governments and social organisations have to do a lot when it comes to implementation to see that child labor is banished from the face of the earth.

    • who will come forward to save the child. No one as they work to survive because their parents cant' do work and don't they want to work. child labour is cost very low to the owners.
