Australia started their 2nd Innings in the 4th and final test match of Border Gavaskar trophy under trial by 32 runs with Matt R and David W and India started with B Kumar and U Yadav.
Australia started poorly as they lost their first 5 wickets at only team score of 92 runs in the form of David W, Matt R, S Smith, Peter H and S Marsh. Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the game and in its 2nd Innings and was only able to make total of 137 runs at the loss of all 10 wickets in 53.5 over’s and top scores by Glen M who made 45 runs in 60 balls with 6 fours and 1 six and Aussie Wicket Keeper batsman M Wade who made 25 runs in 90 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.
By deducting the lead of 32 runs of India, Australia effectively made only 105 runs at the loss of all 10 wickets and this puts India very close to winning the Border Gavaskar trophy again from Australia after many years.
For India R Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets by conceding only 24 runs in 18 over’s, R Aswin took 3 wickets by giving away 29 runs in his 13.5 over’s and U Yadav took 3 wickets by conceding 29 runs in his 10 over’s, B Kumar took 1 wicket by conceding 27 runs in his 7 over’s.
India was needed to score 106 runs in their 2nd Innings of the 4th and final test match to win the match and series as well. And looking at the form Indian team is in, its looks like a cake walk for Indian team.
India started very aggressively with K L Rahul and M Vijay and Australia with Josh H and Pat C.
India batted splendidly well to reach the target in only 23.5 over’s at the loss of only 2 wickets. India top scored with K L Rahul who made 51 runs in 76 balls with 9 fours and strike rate of 67 runs in 100 balls faced and A Rahane who made 38 runs in only 27 balls with 4 fours and 2 six at the great strike rate of 141 runs in 100 balls faced.
The Bottom line of the match was India won the match by 8 wickets in hand and series as well 2-1 and reclaim the prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy from Australia and also took revenge from Australia as when last time India toured Australia in 2015, On that tour Aussies beat India 2-0 in 4 match test series.
Writers Analysis: India bowled superbly well in their 2nd Innings and as they were hoping they were able to take 2 important wickets of Australia in the form of inform batsman David W and Aussie Skipper S Smith inside 32 runs lead got my India. Though the debutant K Yadav was unable to impress with his bowling in the 2nd Innings and not able to pick any of the wickets in 2nd Innings but still his bowling in the 1st Innings has impressed all and now he would surely be in reckoning for future matches to be played in India. He can expect his selection in the last 11 more often than not as his china man bowling is very rare and he will surely pick many more wickets for India. Also with Indian premier league coming up from 5th April, 2017, and kuldeep Y will play for Kolkata Knight Riders, he will surely impress more of the cricketing fraternity as well. India now has good pool of bowlers which they can try at any given time and can also prepare well for the upcoming champions trophy in june,2017 and world cup in 2019.
