India was behind by 85 runs as per the total scored by Australia in their 1^st Innings of the match.

India needed to bat well in their 2^nd innings to have any chance of winning this match and having any hopes of winning this series. India started with K L Rahul and A Mukund.

India started well but lost the wicket of A Mukund on the teams score of 39 runs in 10.4 over’s on the bowling of Josh H. India batted a bit better then 1^st Innings and was able to make total of 274 runs in 97.1 over’s at the loss of all 10 wickets and with top scores of C Pujara who made 92 runs in 221 balls with 7 fours and strike rate of 42 runs in 100 balls faced, A Rahane made 52 runs in 134 balls with 4 fours and K L Rahul made 51 runs in 85 balls with 4 fours and strike rate of 60 runs in 100 balls.

This means Australia needs to get only 190 runs to win this 2^nd Test match to get 2-0 lead in this 4 Match test series.

For Australia Josh H took 6 wickets by conceding only 67 runs in 24 over’s and S O Kefee took 2 wickets by giving away 36 runs in 21.1 over’s and M Stark took the remaining 2 wickets by only conceding 74 runs in 16 over’s.

Writers Analysis:  This batting performance of India and Bowling Performance of Australia put them in commanding position in this game and a golden chance for Aussies to won this match and take lead of 2-0 in this 4 match test series which will also means that the Border Gavaskar trophy will be with them even if India went to won the both remaining 2 test matches. For India, they need to bowl very well and took al catches and create more opportunities to take wickets and stop the flow of runs as well.
