Blackheads removal is probably one of my favorite things to do as part of my skincare routine. I know, it sounds disgusting but there is just a certain feeling of “sense of accomplishment” I feel after peeling off the nose pore strip and see it filled with “bumps”. LOL! OK, I will not go into too much detail for now, hehe.
I usually stack up on nose pore strips when we go to our home country but we ran out! We buy Biore pore strips as an alternative over here but 10 pcs per pack costs too much for me – €8! So after buying a couple more boxes and not removing blackheads as often as I used to, I soon discovered online shops like RoseRoseShop where I can buy a pack of 10 Skinfood Egg White nose strips for $3 (plus shipping!).
Skinfood is a Korean Skincare brand that I recently discovered when I got hooked on Korean beauty products. I love their mantra of using natural ingredients when it comes to skincare – making them a brand that I’d go for!
I received my order some time ago but did not try the nose strip until recently. Similar to other nose strips brands I tried before, each strip is separately packed. The pore strip itself is attached to a clear film that you have to peel before use.
After washing my face, I dried my entire face except for my nose area. I patted it wet with additional water to make sure the nose strip will stick. I opened a pack and got the nose strip. I found the size alright and fits perfectly on my nose. I made sure to smoothen especially around the edges and lay it as flat as I can.
While waiting for the strip to dry, I noticed a strong scent (alcohol, I think) coming from the nose strip. It wasn’t too powerful and even Biore nose strips have that odour anyway. As the nose strip dries, I felt that it starts to harden just like any other nose strip out there.
Now, the moment of truth finally arrived – peeling it off. I had a few bad experiences with other brands (charcoal nose strips) where the nose strip doesn’t have any blackheads attached to the strip at all! So I am crossing my fingers hoping that this is not one of the “bad brands” out there.
I started to peel off from the edges and it was a little bit hard, even a bit painful. I am not sure if I had just too many blackheads as a result of me not removing it as often or just that Skinfood Egg White nose strips sticks too much. In any case, as soon as I was done peeling the entire strip, I was so happy to see A LOT of bumpy, solid sebum/blackheads sticking on the strip!
Apart from removing about 95% of the blackheads on my nose, the strip did not leave any residue on my skin. Overall, I like this product and will surely repurchase in the future!

@cessy08 I have blackheads in my neck area and wondered whether these nose strips would work for that area as well.
Hmm, to be honest, I haven't tried that but I can't think of any reason that it won't work. For one, the neck area has "softer" skin and I think the pore strip would stick easily compared to the nose area that can be a bit "shiny". Not to mention that the neck area is comparably flatter than the nose area.
Thanks @cessy08 I too feel it should work. I could try and get this online. Shall get back with results
I hope it works for you :) You may want to try Jolse or Rinishop (free shipping with anything) or Roserosehop (pay shipping per weight). If you have a number of other products to buy, I think Roserosehop will work better but if you are just buying a single item, I think Jolse and Rinishop is better :)
@cessy08 Im in India and I mostly go through
Amazon.in.
They should have it.
@bestwriter: Oh, yeah definitely :) In any case, Jolse and Roserosehop offers worldwide shipping so I can't see any reason for you not to get your hands on it :)
Yes, it is good for all because SkinFood has several nose packs meant to target blackheads using strips, with main ingredients such as Black Bean, Chlorella and Egg White. I purchased the Egg White Pack, meant for the nose, forehead and jaw (actually the chin), which I'll review here. This pack comes in a cardboard case, with strips individually packaged inside.
I used the nose strip again, and this time I put pressure on the strip to mold directly onto my nostrils for the first three minutes. Doing this, I was able to rip out a lot more blackheads! But while removing the strip, I also saw many blackheads that were barely sticking to the strip and then stayed in my pores. I'm just glad that I had much better results the second time around.
Also, this Egg White Pack also has an accompanying Egg White Nose Pack (Cool Down) strip that is sold separately and meant to cool down the nose directly after using the Egg White Pack nose strip
Overall, I have always liked the effectiveness of nose strips, but these strips didn't have as much effect as I had hoped. While they were easy to use, but I see no use for the triangle strips and the nose strip didn't remove too much gunk. Maybe if I can fully eliminate the air bubbles, I can more effectively remove my blackheads...
