Everyone has a birthday. Some have great celebrations every year, some think of having parties when there is a milestone 1st, 21st, 25th, 50th, 70th, 75th, 80th and God willing the 90th.
Celebrating is fine but how comfortable is it receiving those phone calls all through the day, phone calls from family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and sometimes even from those with whom one has a business relationship.
Then the phone stops ringing not until the next birthday.
Why do all these people wait only for that day and forget the rest of the year.
I have stopped wishing anyone on their birthdays but call them up occasionally throughout the year exchanging news and views and keeping in touch,.
Whoever I can talk to I try to spread this concept of keeping in touch rather than just wish once a year and then forget about each other’s existence.
Whoever initiated this system never meant that contact should be kept only once a year.
I only hope my concept of keeping our near and dear ones in our life throughout our life inquiring about their well being and being there for them works.

yup, it would be a shame that only friends and family members to call you when it is your birthday or struck a lottery.
Honestly, nobody calls me either because none of them asked when was my birthday, so sad.
It would be nice to contact your friends or love ones occasionally, get connected and keep in touch.
Otherwise, it would be weird to have receive a sudden call from someone whom you know but not close.
You just don't know what to talk about, except Thanks and Bye!
