Audi RS6 Avant: My dream car

When I was posted in Sydney I bought a car in 2008, it was an Audi because I always wanted to own one for style, power and comfort that Audi offers to its users. You know when I saw an advert of new Audi Audi RS6 Avant. It had a powerful engine – Stats: 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol, 412kW, 700Nm, 8-sp auto, almost 10km/lit, good for family and it could adjust 5 people comfortably.
We were only two there me and wife but with such a nice driving conditions in New South Wales or in all the OZ area and as everything needs change with time, I was also planning to go for another car, beside the one I bought in 2008 was a used one. So I wanted to buy another car but it had still to be an Audi.

I am talking about 2014 when Audi S6 had been updated with its twin-turbo V8 the RS6 is priced competitively besides RS6 Avant offered a SUV that had sedan-like qualities which cars like Mercedes and BMW offer in their wagon variants of AMG E63 and M5 models in other countries but were not available in Australia till then.
The entire car had tones of facilities that you will love to have but it was technology which included digital TV tuner and a 600-watt 14-speaker Bose stereo and Audi’s own clever touch-pad system that in itself was latest in technology that made it something unique.
I knew it was a bit costly starting from AUS $225,000 plus on-road but I can’t see any other vehicle as my next car. It’s not that costly though if you compare it with other cars in its category.
Engine: V8, Transmission: Seven-speed Twin Clutch Automatic w/ Paddle Shift, Horsepower – RPM: 903 Displacement: 3.8 L, Top Speed: 217 mp/h. I went for a 5 minutes test drive and that was all I did as far Audi RS6 Avant is concerned.

    • @sunil The Audi in the photo sure is a sleek looking vehicle! But at such prices, a car like the Audi S6 you describe truly is a luxury car. You could buy a house for that price, and I would certainly not want to spend that much money on a car for any reason.

I'm too frugal to appreciate a car with such a big price tag and, as I was saying to my husband earlier today, in Canada there is nowhere you could really drive a sports car the way these beautiful machines are meant to be driven. It's different if you're going to drive on the Autobahn regularly or something like that. But in Canada most highways have a maximum speed of only 100 km/hr.

    • It is the best car of this year beautiful look and comfortable for the driver and passengers. Handling should be much improved over the previous model thanks to the lighter weight, and the fact that the V8 is around 500 mm shorter than the V10, meaning weight distribution is much improved.

Visually the new RS6 is the best looking new Audi we’ve seen in years. Up front there is a new bumper with large air intakes at the sides and a matte aluminium-rimmed grille which features a split lower section for the first time. This gives a smaller grille opening at the bottom, with a 3D ‘quattro’ logo sitting in it. We think it looks great, and hope they use it more.

The RS6 is pretty sensible on fuel economy, too. By fitting a cylinder deactivation system and dropping two cylinders, Audi has improved fuel consumption by 30 per cent over the old car. It now officially stands at 28.8mpg – although after one particularly hard drive with us, the trip computer read 13mpg.
