Our presidents are good at praising America’s magnificent national park system, but they’re lousy at maintaining it: Bill Clinton-the-candidate, for example, spoke of how lucky he was to have Hot Springs National Park but he let service’s maintenance backlog soared to $5 billion. And then George W. Bush said how beautiful the Cascade parklands are back when in office. The maintenance backlog ballooned to nearly $9 billion under his presidency. And President Obama, who took the Greyhound to see some of our parks, minused 12 percent from the Park Service budget– bumping the deferred-maintenance bill to a staggering $11.5 billion.
So let not blame trumps advisors or President Trump. This deal has long been in action since Obama. Its like if your a manager of a reastaurant, and somone had bubble guts, do too much of your chilli,(wow) awhat mess in the restroom. Would you honeslty just leave it there?
While some elected officials contemplate legislation to deal with this tighter corporate grip on America, it remains to be seen whether anything short of a Constitutional amendment will be effective in dealing with the consequences of this ruling. The only sure way to combat this assault on true democracy is to elect candidates for public office that put the needs of the citizens over that of the corporations, and vote out of office those who don’t.
We are presently in one of the worst recessions since the great depression. It is well known that the present economic disaster that started nearly two years ago was a direct result of abuses by Wall Street bankers. These abuses were made possible by deregulation in that industry that took place over the last 20 years. It was Wall Street’s lobbying efforts throughout those years that made that deregulation possible. Common sense tells us that re-regulation is needed in order to prevent a reoccurrence of the abuses that led to this disaster. Elected officials have already been busy putting together the framework to begin the process of re-regulation. With all the additional corporate money that will now be flooding Washington, it will be harder than ever to get those necessary changes. And in addition to U.S. corporations, this ruling opens the floodgates to foreign corporations as well.
But it gets better, President Obama had a mid-level U.S. official meet with a Chinese officer in 2011 to find out if the Chinese were open to a land and resource swap for debt forgiveness. Chinese are now lurking in experimental “farming” and “scientific” studies in several locations in the U.S. (in various states). The personnel involved are all Chinese military, and the plan is to use these as the base for the expansion of “land settlements” in payment of the U.S. debt to China.
The group was tasked to visit various preselected sites, including some on the Gulf of Mexico, and arrive at resource-based values between $2 trillion and $5 trillion (enough to satisfy America’s debt to China). It is the Chinese who are pushing for the disarming of the American populace. They do not want to bear the brunt of the backlash from the American public when their work and aspirations are exposed.
