Some people do not know what am and pm mean. This is no joke were I work the store open from 7 am to 8.30 pm with special hours for business customers. the hours say 7am to 10 am and belive it or not people think it for night time . At 8.30 pm I tell people sorry we are close well they say we are business customers then I have to tell them that in the morning time not in the evening time and these are not dumb people. It just seem many people today rally can tell time right some think midnight is pm and am is noon which is not right am say like 12.00 am is mid night while 12pm is noon time I seen other business with the store hours on it say from 6am to 12pm I was talking to the guy who had the store. he could not figure why he had no business in the after noon time. I told him that his hours were not listed right he thought I was wrong but I am not . His business did close up down the road .I think the problem might be the schools I hear are only teaching kids how to past the state test that teacher have no time to teach like they did when I was in school. Now back to am and pm am is morning hours and pm is after noon and evening hours after 12.00 am midnight yes is still dark on same am hours if you do not belive me go to a search on line on am and pm hours and see what I am talking about

This should be one of the things that they teach anywhere,doesn't even have to be at school. at least the parents. This is a system that is used alot because they use the 12-hour format instead of the 24-format to see the time.
There are times that i wonder how people get by knowing the time. For example, 4pm where i love would be 16 o'clock. to tell use that we are in the afternoon and not morning.
Either way i think people should know both formats, it will only help them and won't have to seem a bit dumb when situations like yours happens.
If you know both formats there is no going wrong and you don't have to get embarrassed with certain kinds of questions that is as simple as time.
