Party Politics ain’t no party to me.

What party do you belong to?

Left? Right? somewhere in the middle?

I am a registered Democrat. But I don’t want to vote for Hillary. I would like to know if anyone else is thinking along the lines “There are no good candidates so I will have to vote the one who is least likely to cause damage.”

Yea. I can relate. The common good of society has not always been such a difficult concept. The common good of our nation has never been so divided between the parties, Democratic & Republican.

When I think back in time to the days of my childhood when the first launch of the Apollo rocket that would take man to the moon was motivated by and inspired by the then Democratic president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, I was full of hope for everyone. I actually felt that we had finally become space faring and the sky was indeed no longer the limit.

The day President Kennedy was shot and killed in the year 1963, in Dallas, Texas, we all paused in silence and disbelief as the president was rushed to Parkland Hospital on Harry Hines in Dallas but died because too much damage had been done and the public felt an all time low.

Emerging from that moment to the present we had been at war with Vietnam in 1961, on December 11, as the military began it’s air assault with helicopters and then the subsequent wars in the middle east and the two attempts to destroy the Twin Towers, only to have crazed conspiracy theories made to blame our own government for the 9-11 attacks which is utter nonsense.

The Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm and so on was always going on and in the back of everyone’s minds was this constant nagging notion that the 21st Century was going to be the century of wars that never ended.

So who is best qualified to end the wars? Who is best qualified to motivate men to find better solutions to fighting a smarter war to end all wars without getting so many American soldiers killed or permanently disabled?

Without cooperation in Washington, no matter who gets elected, we will not be any better off after the next 4 years than we are at present, but if we once more unite in the cause for peace and ending the blood shed that is taking us away from our prime objective which should in fact be, a better life for Americans with better education, better work conditions, better health care and better international relations that will have to include getting along better with Mexico and not playing favorites with Israel and Palestine, and focusing on all of the good things that we can do instead of just being at odds, then perhaps we as a country can achieve greatness once again.

The number of unemployed in America is felt by the middle class but ignored by the Elite upper class because they are all making money hand over fist and not being properly taxed for it.

They have secrets, tax shelters, off shore accounts and have outsourced the American worker in favor of cheap labor overseas and this is all just one aspect of what is causing the average American to lose their trust in the leadership and that is why the next president must be a great leader. We can not live in an anarchistic society. It just won’t work. It would on a smaller scale, perhaps hundreds of years ago, but not today. Leadership is necessary and government must be the leader but not the dictator, just the leader. Not to force our will but to give us will power to go forward with hope in a future that at the moment seems quite dismal.

    • Republicans and Democrats are both warmly welcome to comment on this post. God bless America and have a nice day.

    • You say my brother right in eyes democracy is fraud on earth with the citizen of the country because in every country in the name of election is made selection by Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam knows that who wins the election but to deceive the people a rival is must to put dust in the public eyes.

In my country no election but selection by Uncle Sam. The best system on earth is Kingship in which men and women, children and old and young remain peaceful.

the age of democracy if full of war and theft, looting and corruption, rape and murder...no law is made against it because the politicians are also corrupt on earth.

Some argue that the US is the only major democratic power that allows politicians to have an active role in creating voting districts, and it contributes to the divisive nature of American politics. But, as both major parties benefit from gerrymandering, the political will to reform the system doesn’t exist.

Both Barack Obama and Tom DeLay have benefited from gerrymandering in their political careers. In spite of a lot of pressure to reform the system to ensure fairer and more competitive elections, as it stands, the problem is set to continue.
