Part VI of VII Parts
(This is a 7 blog series covering the titled topic. The breaking in small parts are intended to keep the article from being too long or dry. If you like it please continue to read all the blogs of the series before you conclude anything. Thanks and happy reading.)
It needs to be clearly understood whether something which money bought gave me happiness or the thought of liking of the thing and the associated feelings with the object which gave me the happiness. The ‘thing’ in itself is a neutral stimulus but the happiness associated is linked to the thoughts I am creating in relation to it. We mistakenly think that the ‘thing’ gave me happiness. A bad thought or a negative feedback on the ‘thing’ takes away the happiness immediately. Imagine you have currently purchased a much desired object…say a cell phone. You are immensely happy by getting it, you now think mistakenly that the object is giving you happiness. Now suddenly an expert comes across and points out that your object of desire has terrible limitations of specifications and you have got a very poor deal. It may be possible that you become upset. Your happiness may get eroded or may vanish altogether. But the object is still in your hands! So did the object stop giving the happiness it was giving till now?!!! Who asked it to stop giving you happiness? Was it the expert?
Another example would make it more lively especially for the ladies. You have been to party wearing some exquisite jewellery of your choice and people are really appreciating it. You are happy. Now suddenly a vamp comes up and says that this design is very outdated and scornfully gives a laugh and you find others join the giggle! Your happiness vapourizes despite the fact that the source of your ‘happiness’ i.e. jewellery continues to hang on to you.
