Water is scarce and we must preserve it.

There are numerous natural resources in the world. However, one of them is water. We just cannot live without water in this world. Water is most important for our survival on this earth.  We get water from different resources. Water is available through waterfalls, rivers, lakes, ponds and wells.  Some of the sources of water are slowly dying down. Earlier there used to wells in many places, which have either dried down or have been closed due to one reason of the other. Ponds have also dried up at many places due to lack of water. At many places dams are being built for generating electricity. However, these dams are causing availability of less water. Needless to mention that population of countries are increasing day by day consequently demand for potable water is also going upwards.  The sources of drinkable water are limited and they may exhaust one day.  There are many cities and villages in the world where even minimum requirements of water are not fulfilled. There is rationing of water at many places and it gets difficult find potable water at many places. In this scenario we need to play our part to conserve water so that no one is deprived of it. Do you take initiatives to conserve water?  Do you go for recycling of water? Recycling could help conserve water. For example – when we wash clothes, the drained out water could be used for watering plants and trees. Like-wise when we take bath, we should make such a system that water does not go directly to drain and consequently become useless. We should recycle even bathing water by some means. What do you do for recycling water?  Rain water harvesting is another good option to conserve water. In some of the areas there is plenty of rainfall and many a times water go waist. There should be some systems in houses and other establishment, which should store rain water for using it again. We should take steps to conserve water so that our next generation should not get deprived of water.

    • It's true, we should learn to conserve water because ground water is depleted fast if people continuously pump it and just waste it. Recycling is one of the means of conserving it.

    • acelawrites - Yes you are right that we should conserve water because water levels are going down at regular intervals.

    • Water is essential for life. Life of mother nature depends on water but this precious thing for life is taken for granted by human. Most of the people no matter they are educated or uneducated don't care much before wasting water.
Many cities are facing serious water deprivation. Awareness in people is much needed.

    • I have seen many cities in India facing significant water deprivation, most probably for drinking water. They have to buy drinking water on regular basis.
Life cycle of atmosphere revolves around water but sadly this is the most wasted thing on the earth. People just don't care about it.

      • Manju - Yes, you are very right that there is even scarcity of drinking water and even in cities like New Delhi, people buy bottled water. In many places of India, even proper drinking water is not available. Those people who are lucky enough to get potable water, do not understand the importance of water and waste it and even wash their cars/bikes and water their garden with potable water. We should save water at every cost.
