Happy International Womans Day and Fathers Birthday

Many people know what day today is. Today is that day we celebrate a woman’s independence. We celebrate International Woman’s Day.

Here on the Island they dedicated this whole weekend to do various workshops, speeches and other activities to celebrate this very day. There are workshops for makeup, there are going to be some group activites such as gym classes and some important women giving some powerful speeches.

Today is the day we woman have to celebrate, we need to celebrate the fact that we are now free, we can dream and try to accomplish our dreams, we don’t need to depend on a man to live anymore.

The time in history were women were almost like possessions are over and we are here standing as equals in the world to show how good we can be. Show how woman can strive in a man’s job, for us to show that we don’t need to be house wives and following a successful career will make us happy to.

We can show the world how a woman can be just that a woman, a person that can be a mother, a worker, a friend and family and still be herself.

That is what the day is all about. This day is to help recognize what women went through in our history and how we came so far into getting our selves indepentant and free. Even though there are some countries that are a bit against womens freedom i still have hope that they will one day have the same freedom as all other women around the world.

Not only is today International Women’s Day but it is also my father’s birthday. And we are planning to get a little family get together and give him a little party. We all bring a little something to eat and drink and play a couple of games. My mom is going to make him a homemade cake with some frosting and get some snacks for us to drink.
