A Few More Uses of Proxy Servers

In a previous item I mentioned a few reasons for he use of Proxy Servers.

For those who have just ‘walked in’ a Proxy Server is a computer you connect to, which you use to connect to the other sites you wish to visit.

For example, let’s pretend it is 2014 and you are a member of Bubblews.com.   Instead of going to that site from where you really are i.e. Kenya, or Jamaica or the Philippines, you connect to a Proxy in New York City. Then you go to Bubblews.com from that proxy.

Any check of your location will be where the Proxy is, in this case, New York City.   This means the site will always Pay you, because you are in America.

When dealing with writing sites which may be scammy, the wisest move is to use an American Proxy every time you connect.

Another reason you use a Proxy is for privacy.  Sometimes your privacy is vital.

For example, there are many people, who have been stalked.   They are  afraid to log on.   They see the Internet as dangerous.  When shown how to use a Proxy, which hides their address, (and a nick name which goes further)  they can participate with a sense of safety, for no one can get behind that Proxy.

The most important reason for using a Proxy Server is PRIVACY.

One of the things that you learn, or should learn, if not, Will Learn; is that when you enter the Cyber Highway is nothing is private.

You are walking naked down main street on a sunny day.

You enter a Search for colitis  suddenly,  every other Ad is for some kind of back passage medication.  Offers fill your email account.  Everything to deal with the back passage decorates web pages.

On some web site you post you are a vegan.  Now, you are swamped with recipes for vegan dishes.

Although you don’t realise it, your browsers are not just full of history, they are  loaded with cookies and pop ups and spy ware.

You are not doing anything wrong, you just don’t want to be walking naked down main street on a sunny day.

So, you use a Proxy Server.

Sure, every time you go to a site you have to log in, even if you go to that site six times a day. However, considering your privacy, it’s a small price to pay.
