SIMPLE ACTS CAN MAKE A GOOD DIFFERENCE TO THE EARTH

We wake up every morning to a brand new day finding ourselves in front of the mirror making sure that we look okay and feel okay. We use the best products we think are right for ourselves to enhance our beauty and to make sure that we maintain proper hygiene. Some practically have their own regimen of pampering themselves. Being vain or maybe even being obsessed to some extent for our looks and hygiene is not a crime at all. Of course, having a proper hygiene has its perks because it can make us look fresh and feel good inside out. Besides, who wouldn’t want to feel clean and healthy at the same time? Every one of us has choices to make every day. Obviously, not everyone has the same choices but that is what making us different from other people. Our choices make us unique.

Just like in our daily routine of maintaining our proper hygiene, the Earth as well needs proper hygiene. It needs to be clean and maintained regularly. If we do not keep our mother Earth clean, life as we know it would disintegrate.

Loving and caring for ourselves means taking good care of the Earth. Even doing a little or simple act of cleaning would mean a lot. You may do the following:

  • Planting trees in your yards or within your community can save the Earth from many disasters, like floods, slides and also from pollutions.
  • Dispose your garbage properly.
  • Learn about alternatives to household cleaning materials where you need not use hazardous chemicals.
  • Turn off lights and electrical devices when it is not needed.
  • Re-think transportation, to walk or to ride your bicycle instead of driving your car, whenever possible.
  • Shop with your canvas bag instead of using plastic bags.
  • Compost your fruits and vegetable scraps.
  • Recycle your waste materials if possible.

A lot of simple decisions we do in our daily living affects the Earth. With that, each decision we make, think it wisely. Does your decision of doing such thing can be a good contribution for the goodness of our planet Earth or for destroying it? After all, who would want to live in an unhealthy and decaying world? No one right? So it’s our choice that makes the difference.

    • It has been many years that saving the earth is the project of the government or even non-government organization.I do think that the best management for this is to have self-discipline.Simple things can be done and some people are aware of this. But the question, "Is it sustainable?"There are times that it is becoming overused to save the earth.

If there is really a strict rule, then I am sure people will follow it.I hope it will work for such intervention.I had once worked in an NGO and one of the main responsibility is to clean up the place.

The NGO provided all the cleaning kits as we called it.The project was successful but the sustainability was being questioned. After a few years, the situation persists in the place and turned to be a product of dole out a project.

    • Yes, saving the earth is always a topic and a project of government and NGOs' as you mentioned. Even public schools, colleges, and universities have this as one of their projects, but sometimes, we cannot see the improvement of the cleanliness of our environment because people lack discipline when it comes to proper disposal of garbage. It is indeed a simple act but only few can maintain it.
I do agree that sustainability of cleaning our environment is one solution to save the earth from pollution. We should not stop from doing it.
