MOST PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH SELFIE

“Selfie”, one of the most popular words for today’s generation. In websites, Google defines SELFIE as seemingly endless self-portraits with captions posted or uploaded by an individual through a media site like Instagram, twitter, facebook, flicker, tumbler and other social Medias.

Most people take selfies on their own way of a pose. Usually the most common posed being noticed is they pout their lips causing them to imitate a duck’s beak. Some bloat their cheeks imitating a bullfrog and some imitate a cross-eyed man.

As of now, a person adopts SELFIE as a diary, for some already take it as their daily hobby. But don’t you know that taking of SELFIES has its own disadvantages? Taking selfie pictures are sometimes addictive which can be lead to obsession. Maybe some will deny it but it’s the reality that is being observed nowadays.

Here in the Philippines, there are lots of listed incidents where taking SELFIE was involved. An example is an incident in Pasig City, Philippines wherein a 14-year-old student died when she fall from the stairs on the 3^rd floor of their school building while taking a selfie. Another incident is the 15-year-old boy who got confused and pulled the trigger of the gun rather than the button of the camera causing the bullet to enter his head while taking a selfie with the gun. Cyber- bullying is also a disadvantage of SELFIE. Say for example if an original photo will be edited into something ugly and post it on social media by another person. Moreover, worst, if some photo editor expert will turn your SELFIE into a pornographic photo and upload it somewhere else on the internet.

Taking SELFIE is not that bad because it helps one person to express his own self but too much can cause bad effects to us so be smart and know your limitations. Be responsible for your photos that are being posted on your social accounts.
