Using animals in circus should be punished by law

I wish there was something I could do about this. I admit it that when I was little I liked to go to the circus to look at tigers and lions. But little did I knew back then about the sufference and pain these animals have to go trough

it makes me wonder why are humans so cruel? in this desperate quest for many we seem to have lost our human nature. I saw a video with two baby bears that were tormented and they would literally cry due to what their so called trainer would do to them. animals aren’t designed to be used for our fun. animals should live in the wild and we shouldn’t do anything to disturb their environment.

But I don’t know why does this surprise me since human are capable of even killing for money

on vacation I went to the seaside and there was a circus that came to the place were I was located. they invited me to go but I refused and told them I can’t watch this proof of huge cruelty towards animals.

I wish someone would punish the humans who use wild animals for the sake of the show.

And I also must mention that if I had a child I would never take him to see such things. Plus I would also teach him that using animals like this is totally wrong and we don’t have any right to do it.

I wonder how many of us humans would resist to such a treatment that our fellows apply to some poor defenseless animals. there’s no wonder that you hear about employees at the circus that got killed.

if you were to ask me they fully deserve it

what makes me sad is that in such cases is the animal that gets killed too

    • That is animal cruelty. Why should they use animals in their showdown or in monkey business? People also applauded those abusers. I hate to see human being abusing some animals, butchering without a reason, eating them too and selling some.Pigs okay to be butchered, but it could also be pig cruelty if punish the animal just to gain viewers. Our laws on land have lots of biases.

      • yes indeed I consider it animal cruelty too. it's sad that parents take the kids to see such shows. I promised myself I would never do this to my child

    • The people are entertained in this kind animal exhibition in the circus. Whatever it is, it is the exploitation of the animals for the benefit of the human interest especially in making money.

The different countries have their own laws that govern this mode of cruelty, exploitation of the animals for the circus, for the business purposes. Those people involved should know the law concerning the welfare of the animals. Animals have the right to live, have the right to protected, have the right to a proper treatment as the human.

Look at the selected countries on how they treat and protect the animals through legislation.

In India, they have the prevention of cruelty to animals act, 1960 and it is amended by Central Act 26 of 1982. There is a restriction on exhibition and training of performing animals. Unless the person is registered, he couldn't let his animals performing any act or have it displayed in public for a fee.

In the Philippines, there is Republic Act No. 10631. It is the animal welfare act of 1998. It provides there that any person who treats any animal cruelly, maltreated or neglected has to suffer the punishment imposed by the said law if found guilty. He would be imprisoned and be fined according to the provision of the law.

In Australia, they have the animal welfare act 1992. It governs the use of animals in the circus. It says that a person is charged by the court if he holds a circus. He uses animals and he has no permit to hold the circus.

      • your post is very interesting and informative. I wish there was a law in my country too that would forbid people to use animals by forcing them to do tricks for the entertainment of people

    • I think you have a point here. Some people fight against cruelty as part of their advocacy. However, the scope of animal rights is not specific.Animals in the circus should be released and be in their habitat to survive.Putting them in the cage is a really harsh thing to do.

But then, the manner of meat consumption is also questionable. It contradicts the advocacy in fighting the animal rights. The common livestock should also fall into this jurisdiction.
