I had a call this morning from a person I know who claims to be a social worker. She told me she visited many houses yesterday and spent time with them. She has no life of her own and I understood her motive behind these visits. I had no time to listen to her but gave her my time as she needed to talk to someone – my way of helping someone (lol)
This is her story
– She met someone who is bedridden. She told her that she will pray for her. What does it cost her to say those prayers I wondered.
She could have atleast offered some help to make her get up, bathe her and spend atleast a day with her. She could have atleast offered to talk to her doctor and do things for her, may be shop for her and render some practical help than just say she will pray for her.
– She then told me about someone who had lost someone.
She condoled with her and told her to have courage.
She could have instead spent a day with her and took her out somewhere
-And there was someone whose maid had gone on leave.
She tells that person not to exert too much. I wonder what that someone would eat if she did not cook.
Atleast she could have offered some help in the kitchen.
These social workers only do that – just offer lip sympathy. They visit these people and just waste their time. But those who are visited are polite enough not to tell them that they are wasting their time.
This person wasted my time too. But I too could not say it. Diplomacy is the name of the game.
Talkig about visits I detest those who visit hospitals feeling great that they did that. There will be no help offered. Sometimes patients prefer they are left alone. They would be in no mood to talk to visitors but these visitors just force themselves on these patients sometimes worsening their condition.
Volunteering is the need of the hour but this category is hard to come by.

Some people claim themselves as social worker or volunteer but did nothing physically to help except verbally to help.
Advice is useful only when the heart matters, when someone is in need of help, only true friends would help, not social workers
I abhor social workers. They only want to get a name for themselves without doing anything.
People weakness on earth is fame and nothing else after this comes wealth and love is the last but they do not knows what they are doing God knows every man's heart and awards his deeds' award on earth. In his world man is driven by emotions not by reason when emotions candle burns the lamp of wisdom extinguishes automatically.
Social workers are human beings but they are lack of knowledge and do not know the realities of this world and do everything for ostentation and fame but they do something are better who do nothing in practical field.
Another benefit to social work is the ability to advocate in areas of passion. Someone with a passion for children can specialize in agencies that help children and families with children. Social workers interested in criminal justice may help ex-convicts as they try to assimilate back into society. Schools and hospitals offer additional opportunities for specialized social workers.
