Zimbabwe beat Kenya in 2nd ODI of series,2009

Zimbabwe was scheduled to play a 7 Match ONE DAY International series in Kenya in 2009. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 9 and 10. The 2nd  ONE DAY international match was to be played on Mombasa Sports Club Ground, Mombasa, Kenya. Zimbabwe holds the upper hand as they are more balanced team and playing very well as well.

Zimbabwe batted well and was able to post total of 351 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 7 wickets and with top scores of Stuart M who made 90 runs in 95 balls with 8 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 95 runs in 100 balls and Elton C who made 68 runs in 29 balls with 10 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 234 runs in 100 balls.

Kenya was needed to score 351 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

Kenya batted well but was unable to chase the target of 351 runs and was only able to make 200 runs in 45.1 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and lost the game by 151 runs and with top contributions from Steve T who made 56 runs in 48 balls with 6 4’s and 2 sixes at the strike rate of 117 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe won the match by 151 runs and series stands at 2-0 in favor of Zimbabwe with 5 more games to play.
