Zimbabwe beat Kenya in 1st T 20 of series,2009

Zimbabwe was scheduled to play a 7 Match T 20 International series in Kenya in 2009. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as they are ranked at 9 and 10. Kenya batted well and was able to post total of 135 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 8 wickets and with top scores of Jimmy K who made 50 runs in 50 balls with 2 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls and S Waters who made 40 runs in 20 balls with 2 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 200 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe was needed to score 136 runs in 20 over’s to win this match.

Zimbabwe batted well and was able to chase the target of 136 runs in 19.2 over’s at the loss of 5 wickets and won the game by 5 wickets in hand and with top contributions from Keith D who made 60 runs in 50 balls with 4 4’s and 2 sixes at the strike rate of 120 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe won the match by 5 wickets in hand and series stands at 1-0 in favor of Zimbabwe with 6 more games to play.
