People dislike to be punished. Punishments as defined are actually legal procedures whose fundamental objective is to reform the criminal and eliminate the possibility of future crime from happening.
But, sometimes the criminals are so unreformed that no punishment manages to change their attitude. They are really stubborn. I have seen policemen burning a considerable portion of criminal body & throwing salt onto it. Still, the criminals do not learn. They do not provide any information even if they are tortured highly.
I was watching a movie and there I saw how a strict Police Officer chose to punish the criminal. He first collected the evidences. When he was sure about authenticity of the evidences, he caught the criminal but wanted to catch the mastermind.
The police officer was sure that this accused won’t reveal the secret of his mastermind so, he decided to punish the accused and grab secrets from him. He hanged accused upside down and tied his hands and legs. Then he took a tight HDPE (High Density Poly Ethylene) Bag and covered his mouth.
Now, you might wonder how this punishment is. The trick is: well, HDPE bag wasn’t empty. It contained 5 – 6 rats in it.
Within 2 minutes, the criminal begged for mercy and agreed to reveal the secret about his boss.
Well, the movie was over and made me think – why is this punishment limited to only a movie? I don’t know any case where this punishment happens in real life. I agree that this is abuse of human rights of the criminal but do we need human rights for a hardcore criminal? The purpose of punishment is to reduce the possibility of repetition of crime. So, we hope that no one shall ever doubt about human right case for criminals.
Anyways, I do feel that the punishment was the ultimate. Covering someone’s mouth with rat – filled HDPE bag – that is the max torture one can ever give. What do you think – is there any other punishment similar to this? Share your feedback.

I thought there were lie detectors which could be in my opinion a more humane way to get out the truth. I am not for such cruelty. Ends do not justify means.
