Woe betide those who have not understood animals

I was attending a wedding where the hosts had provided accommodation for many of us in their own property. They had enough room for all of us.

It was a gala event and we stayed there for 8 days. Each day was full of activity singing, games and fun……

But there in the corner of their compound was this Alsatian caged up in a kennel. This dog had messed everywhere and he had no proper place to sit. I saw him suspending  himself on a parapet inside his kennel as the rest of the area was dirty.

The kennel had not been cleaned for days. The dog would be fed no doubt and that’s it. He was left alone there. I did not see any member of  the household visiting or talking to him. The maid just came and fed him.

I am an animal lover and when I saw his plight I quietly went there and washed that place with the help of a hoze pipe. I could not go in as I was not sure how the dog would behave.

The people of the house thought nothing of it There are scores who treat animals the way this household treated. .

A dog is kept as a status symbol the higher the  pedigree the greater is the size of that symbol – does not matter how that symbol is treated.

A dog is kept to watch the house, leashed twenty four hours of  the day.  He is not allowed to bark and if he does that he is hit mercilessly. The sadist in the human being comes to the fore.  These human beings hate animals – only did they know the happy role animals can play in their life.

Animals have a treasure trove to offer us human beings. Their love us without expecting anything. They are forever grateful. With their pleasant pranks they amuse us. They give us company – type of company no human being is capable of

It is not necessary that one should go for a pedigree. There are many strays that could well be adopted.

After a stint with the pedigree, and just when we had decided to take a sabbatical with rearing pets,  in walks this little one,  a wee bit of a female, right into our garden. We scrapped the idea of that sabbatical and accepted her with open arms. We fell in love with each other.

Her name is Preiti. She is treated royally. She gets her food at the right time. She sleeps in our bedroom. She has her own foam bed. She shares the couch with me when I am watching tv.

Our hall is converted in to a playground

for Preiti where we play ball with her.  She is never leashed except to give her medicines or to brush her.    She is free to roam and run around in the compound as our compound has strong walls.

She is a great watch dog too. She alerts us when she spots a reptile.  She alerts us when she spots someone at the gate.

Preiti is fond of cats and was a quiet admirer of that monkey (Charlie) that visited us.

Preiti likes everything clean around her including her bedsheets. Watch this video

Preiti is around 10 years, grown into a dignified lady although she did give us anxious moments with her puppy pranks.

Adopt a stray and you will never regret it. Give them all the love just as you would a pedigree. That will be returned a hundred fold.

Animals need love, a clean place to stay, good care, enough exercise and not just food.

If this is not possible then keeping animals is a crime

    • Woes is the child anxiety and spring from sad soul. Anxiety – is a kind of sorrow that emerges when the mind is weighed down with something so as to make escape seem impossible.

Thomas’ definition is likely rooted in the Latin word angustia which means a narrow pass or straight. And thus anxiety tends to arise when we experience stress about a situation and find no room to maneuver, no way out. Anxiety also tends to regard the future, whereas pain regards to present. In pain, one can suffer in the moment about the situation, but knows that it will pass.

But anxiety arises when we sense no determined end to the painful situation, no room to maneuver, and no way out.

Pity is the sorrow that we feel for the evil or misfortune endured by another person. But it is deeper than mere regret or perturbance. Pity is to experience the misfortune of another, as though it were our own.
