Why we need marriage or maybe better to be as a cohabiting couple?

Our ancestor’s fairy tales had actually one end of the template, which a prior, was considered the most right: they got married and lived long and happy. In the twenty-first century, men do not want to marry, being not sure whether the woman is able to cook, has the woman a livable character. The woman will not tell her man “Yes” till will not be sure that he can himself to iron his shirts, is not afraid to wash socks and brings coffee in the bed. Love becomes meaningless; it is important to check and be sure whether it is possible to live together. Such inspection can last for 3-4 years, and sometimes decades. The stamp in the passport means nothing. People are growing children, creates the household without being married. However, if the stamp means nothing, why not put it? No any cohabiting couple honestly answers this question.

Cohabitants – this is a man and woman who live together, although not officially married. It’s like a sort of a gray zone of love in the halfway between the romance and the marriage – a little more than just a couple, and slightly less than a family.

40 years ago, all were confused just of a thought about life together before marriage – it was the privilege of artists, actors and others like them. Modern youth otherwise, become confused of thought on how to get married to someone without living together before marriage – after all, need to find out the habits, understand the character, and finally – to verify that a man and woman fits for each other, and whether life closed in a small home space, will not become as a dog with a cat.

Half of cohabiting couples break up without still being unmarried. Studies have found that, generally, the decision shall be taken within five years – through this time couples either marries, or break up. Most couples, who have chosen to reside together, believe that soon get married and lifelong live together.  But often they do not marry neither after month, or year. Uncertainty is annoying, one of them gets tired of waiting for the wedding bells that seem to never will sound, and hit the door. Although most of life partners think that it is better to break up still without marriage, but divorce of cohabitation couple psychologically is the same severe as of husband and wife.

Neither man nor woman, being life partners, cannot demand from the partner any liability – neither financial, moral nor spiritual.

Why do people prefer cohabiting status? Why dare share a bedroom, a refrigerator and a bed with each other without the passport stamp, and yet it is unclear whether it will ever be there? The farther, the easier this decision is made. Some couples choose to live together as an alternative to marriage, but there are not too many such couples, usually it is those who do not want or can’t to have children. Others say that they want to experience intimacy, emotional and sexual, but do not want to pay by their freedom. Still others want to check future husband or wife, the character, habits, the ability to be faithful and the compatibility. The fourth wants to try the marriage and to understand what it means to live with the same person, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
