Why Some People Make So Much Noise

It doesn’t matter where you are.   School, Office, Street, very often you will encounter someone who never shuts up and who, if there is no one to talk with, starts to sing.

This behaviour is startling.

When you come from a family of people who know how to behave themselves,  and have taught you, you are rather taken aback by this strange performance.

The other day there was this ridiculous sound, it was like a turkey, but higher pitched, I stopped to listen, and it was this woman.   She was talking and talking and talking so that she sounded like a turkey gobbling.  She was talking to another who maybe stuffed in a word here and there.

I had never seen such behaviour and it was one of those ‘talking points’ you mention to others because it is so astounding to see someone, out of diapers, who behaves in this fashion.

The fact is, clearly, this person wants attention.   She needs attention.   Clearly, she never got any or enough, as a child.  She doesn’t garner much notice today.  So to get attention, even the stare, she makes up for her lack of attraction by keeping up a constant blabber to block out the silence and loneliness.

The woman of whom I write is unattractive, yes.  She had no good features.   Not her appearance, her behaviour, her voice, she was just obnoxious.

Which, of course, explains why she was not very popular.   She hid her faults, so as not to see them, by her noise, and her constant babbling was done so that the sound of her voice hid the silence.

She was a follower, for anyone who paid her any attention was pushed to friend and she followed the poor victim around.  If the person she attached herself to had friends, she tried to attach to them as well.

Although it is easy to blame her parents for not giving her a proper upbringing, she is old enough to take some responsibility for her actions.

She won’t.
