Who is Control of Your Brain?

Some years ago a friend, Neville, and I were discussing a rather controversial topic.   Another chap, Dan, came up and I asked him what he thought.   Neville immediately said; “He hasn’t received his opinion yet.”

It was one of the sharpest barbs, yet totally accurate.  For many people don’t have a mind of their own.

Paul always played his younger brother.  If Jackie was excited about something, Paul would slap it away and Jackie lost his interest.    Paul said it; “Jackie has no mind of his own.”

Paul was spot on.  For Jackie was like that character in a Woody Allen picture; “Zelig” who would change his opinions based on who was around him.

Most people aren’t human chameleons, not completely, but are easily influenced by those around them.

This is why so much is made of Russian hacking, email releases, and the influence on American and now French Elections.

A thinking person would see the platforms,  be able to extrapolate the policies that go with such positions, and make up their minds.

America has become the laughing stock of the world having elected a guy who stands for nothing.   A guy who says one think on a platform, does something else in the office.  A guy who changes with the breeze.

If Russia had an influence on the American elections, i.e. the release of emails, or the false accusations made against Hilary Clinton, one can only say to America, ‘Don’t blame Russia because you are stupid.’

If the suddenly release of emails causes the election of Marine Le Penn, the French can not blame Russia because they are stupid.

To blame Russia is to admit that you have no control of your brain.   That anyone can pop in with any kind of statement, and like Jackie, you’ll believe and act upon it.
