This is the topic for a post which I lost this morning due to a computer glitch. It is hard to recall the exact words I had written, but the essence of the topic is just the same.
Do you regularly clear your home of clutter? It has so many benefits, and the most important one is having available space when you discard or remove some unwanted or unused things lying in there for months or years being untouched. It can be a furniture, things at the kitchen, so many decorations, so many old documents, old newspapers, old receipts, and many others.
The easiest way to declutter is to start at the cabinets or drawers. Sort out the things or trinkets in there. If you do not want to discard them, put them in an organizer so they will look neat and you can have an easier time when you need a thin from among them.
Discard obsolete papers, very old receipts, old bank or credit card statements. Before throwing these away, tear the portion that bears your identity, address or amount of money stated there. It is good to be cautious to have your identity scattered in some garbage site or dumpsite because you can be a target of some scammers.
Discovering So Many Things
While cleaning so many papers in our cabinet, I found a yellowish typewritten document written in Spanish. It was a copy, I think a carbon copy of my parent’s marriage contract.
From that document, I discovered they were married in 1930’s and my father was 21 years old, while my mother was only sixteen years old! They were so young when they got married.
Another thing that I discovered was about my past jobs where I got some good and bad memoranda from our very strict boss! I felt like flying back down memory lane, and I wished I had done my best, although I felt I had done it. The reason I got some awards for that work! I wish my future grandchildren can discover it too when they grow up! This can serve as an inspiration to them.
There are so many things you can discover while cleaning your clutter. You can see old photos, which many people use today to post on Facebook for “throwback Thursdays!”
Aside from photos and old records, there could be some records of your medical history. It can be summarized in a record book for future reference, so you can discard the voluminous papers from your doctor or hospital.
This is the fun side of clearing clutter at home. You can put the things you do not use or need and give it to the garbage collector for their own use, or hand it away to friends or relatives who need it. At least your clutter will no longer be considered a clutter because it will be used again by another person(s).
And the most important thing, you can discover that you can still improve your home, make it look tidy and orderly, and more spacious too if you cleared away the clutter.

Yes, me too experienced many things during one time cleaning of my cabinets, luggage and other stuff. What amused when I clean my cabinet was the puller that I was looking for many months already before I discovered its hideout hahahaha. That was a funny thing had that thing still looks new for when I bought is in mall, I kept it in that place without remembering for it was not used right away only after many month, lols.
I am glad that you recovered this blog. I hope your computer will abide you all the time. Have a nice Sunday my dear.
It's good you found your puller when you sorted your things. No, I did not recover this post, I wrote this again. The original one that was lost almost reached 1,000 words. This one is just above 50o words, I think.
TI love cleaning my home on daily basis, so there is no surprise for me and all the things are well managed at my home.
Thanks for your reply. So nice to know that you are doing it on a daily basis. It is really a good practice, though there are people who are so busy with so many things that they can not do it on a daily or even weekly basis.
